The result of the move request was: moved. Moved to John Lowell (judge, born 1824) after a lot of support. This is per WP:NCPDAB. (non-admin closure) - 🔥𝑰𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒆 (𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌)🔥 11:21, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
John Lowell (judge, 1865–1884) → John Lowell (judge, 1824–1897) – In my experience, it is very unusual to have a date range in a disambiguator that references the dates during which the subject was engaged in their profession, as opposed to their life dates, which is what I think a reader would first presume when seeing such a range. - Support per nomination. I likewise have not seen any other main title headers using a person's period of activity in place of vital dates, other than those delineating personages from ancient times who left no other known details. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 15:47, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Readers will expect the listed date range to be birth and death dates. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 21:40, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- Update: I still support the original proposal, but my first preference is actually for the alternate title proposed by Necrothesp below. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 13:49, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
- Support - per nomination. aaronneallucas (talk) 23:48, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- Move to John Lowell (judge, born 1824). We usually use just the YOB, not the full date range, per WP:NCPDAB. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:31, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
- I prefer Necrothesp's proposal as being more in line with the cited guideline and consistent with other article titles, which disambiguate by birth year only. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 05:01, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: Relisting to see if the lifespan disambiguator or the YOB disambiguator has consensus. Sennecaster (Chat) 05:52, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
- I'm fine with the YOB disambiguator, John Lowell (judge, born 1824). My concern is that the current title is nonstandard. BD2412 T 02:27, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
