Structure of History of Toronto Articles

edit

I like the history in this page but, with due respect to the authors, I think there is the danger for this page to simply become a retelling of Toronto's history with a slightly different focus (neighbourhoods) and that all the information here would equally fit elsewhere; most of it is already, I think, notably missing in the other general chronology-based History pages for Toronto and is sorely needed there. The only concrete subject around which this page seems be written is the official systems (the ward system) Toronto has used to subdivide itself and I don't know if that should have a page on its own; at any rate it certainly needs to be dealt with on the general History of Toronto page too. The pages on Toronto history need to be reorganised anyway and perhaps we could consider merging the information in this page with the histories of the old City of Toronto, Town of York, Metropolitan Toronto etc. Perhaps the List page for Toronto neighbourhoods could also be cleaned up with a simple description from this page of what Toronto neighbourhoods are and have been? In any case I'll link this page to the History of Toronto Series so we can have a clearer idea of how all the history pages are connected. JosephIWMolto (talk) 09:15, 2 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
