Reverted edit
editI want to comment on the reversal of my edit. I had changed "They were distributed across the North Sea coastal regions" to "They are related to farmhouse types that occur across the North Sea coastal". My point was to connect this type, specific to North Sea coastal area of Germany, to a group of farmhouses, which is called in Dutch literature the Noordelijkse huisgroep (Northern house group). The way the text is written now suggests that this specific type once was present on the entire North Sea coast, which is simply untrue.
The argument for the reversal of my edit is: "rv good faith edit; that's not what the source text says." I know I didn't properly backed up my edit, but where can I find this source text. Scrolling through Vollmer et al., I cannot find it supporting the suggestion that the Gulf house once was present in the entire North Sea coastal area. It does however support the Gulf house being related to the other farm styles of the North Sea coast.

Clearly there is a difference between the Gulf House and "related farmhouse types". If we use the latter then the distinction drawn with the Lower Saxon House (a related farmhouse type) makes no sense.
- We probably need to track down literary sources that tell us the distribution of the Gulf house and then amend the text as necessary. At first glance, the German Wiki article doesn't seem to have one. Bermicourt (talk) 09:31, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying. I have to disagree with your notion that the Lower Saxon House from the Eble-Weser triangle is in the same way related to the Gulf house as the other farmhouse types of the North Sea coast. The Gulf house is part of a "Frisian" group, while the Lower Saxon House is part of a "Saxon" or Hallenhaus group. This distinction is maybe more clear in the Netherlands than it is in Germany. I will try to look for literature, but I'm afraid most will be in German, which I'm certainly not fluent in. Pietpiet1 (talk) 15:17, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- That's okay. I can translate German. Bermicourt (talk) 16:46, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- I've found a chapter on the Gulf house. Gläntzer, V. (2002) ‘Das Gulfhaus in Ost-Friesland – eine Innovation des 16. und 17. Jahrhunderts’, in J. Klápště (ed.) The Rural House from the migration period to the oldest still standing buildings, Prague, pp. 58–75. Linked here [1]. Pietpiet1 (talk) 20:05, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
