illustration needed
editA drawing or ancient painting is needed. I can't find one... --Menchi 00:53, 25 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Spelling
editShouldn't this be "headwear" and not "headware"? DopefishJustin 01:28, Apr 25, 2004 (UTC)
- This is odd. There are like 20,000 Google hits for such words, but neither OED nor Merriam-Webster has this word. Maybe this is an extremely common misspelling? --Menchi 01:47, 25 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- I suppose it must be influenced by words like "hardware" and "software", which are obviously very common nowadays. There are 800 000 hits for headwear (v. 20 000 for headware), so as you say it looks like a common misspelling. I've made redirects to headgear for all the spellings I could think of. I just googled for footware and footwear - a similar result with 100 000 hits for footware and 7 million for footwear. :)

editTo add to this article: can such headwear also be called "guanmao" (官帽, literally "official hat")? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 22:08, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
