Removal of Religion Section
editI believe that the religion section should be removed as it is comprised of a single sentence with no references and makes mention of only a single religion. It's a list of local churches. No other city pages for Kaufman county have a single sentence with its own section, especially one stating that they're a Christian city made up of Christian churches which could naturally be assumed. The information could be integrated somewhere else in the article. A whole sub-section is poor form unless there is more information that can be added.
On that note, the education section could be expanded. Such as adding the fact that the public library for the town is currently also the High School Library. This confuses visitors as well as new residents.Sovietsoldat (talk) 10:21, 30 December 2009 (UTC)SovietSoldat.
A Different Type of Vandalsim
editIt would be greatly appreciated if those who continue to vandalise the Forney, Texas page by adding rediculous and non-relevant information about a "Where's Heckman" campaign would cease immediately. Further, it is not vandalism to remove false information about schools (how many are planned, where they are to be built) from the page.
This, for example, is complete idiocy and should never have been posted in the first place.
"It will be located across from the new middle school after the completion of the middle school and 3-100 more elementary schools."
Also, posting about the Where's Heckman campaign leads me to believe you are nothing but an immature High School student attempting a rediculous joke. If you continue to embarass our town via this article I will be forced to take the necessary actions with Wikipedia administrators. n This vandalism will be tolerated no longer.
Sincerely, A concerned resident
Another Concerned Resident
editAs I said before, the "Where's Heckmann" campaign shows the wit and flavor of student life in FISD. I do not see why you find this offensive, and will add it back. I will also make sure with the appropriate parties that the information is appropriate, and will make sure that the page is edited accordingly.
The elementary school number should have been 10. I apologize for the typo, but several are planned and in development. I do not see a problem here other than the typo. You seem to be anonymously ranting about a minor issue. It would have been much easier for you to go into the "edit" menu and remove one 0, rather than making an issue out of the typo.
Also, the NEW High School is in fact zoned across from the Middle School, if I recall correctly. I have actually visited the site. This may have changed after the fact, as it has been about a year since I visited it, but at the time it was across from the NEW Middle School. It may not be directly across from the middle school, but taking an angle across a road is, in fact, generally understood as going across. Apparently, other authors, ie: authors other than you or I, did not see a problem with that data as it was left alone. We aren't the only two editing the page. That doesn't strike me as being particularly false. Possibly outdated, and I will check it before adding it back, but not intentionally false.
To be honest, I find it appauling that you anonymously take the pretext of "a concerned resident" to smear the writing of others.
Thank you for you time and continued effort in making the Forney, TX wiki page the BEST that it can be.
Your vandalism will be tolerated no longer, and the appropriate contacts will be made \by several allied cocerned editors if your delinquent behavior persists.

- As I see it, the Where's Heckmann campaign should not be made inside the city's article, instead put it in Forney High School. (Make the stub, put 3 good sentences of info - which the campaign will do - and according to WP:SCHOOL it's okay) The town itself has little to do with the campaign; it is the school that is causing it, and has little to do with the town itself. The wit and flavor of student life belongs in a school article, not the town's. And please, be very careful to assume good faith, especially around newbies who don't know how the system works.

- Actually, after searching on Google, I don't find a mention of it, even in Metroplex newspapers. So maybe it's a big deal for the town, but does it really qualify for being added to an encyclopedia? -- Jjjsixsix 03:25, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
- We were actually both new and that caused some issues. We later worked it out over e-mail, I believe. There were some errors that needed correction and the erors were corrected.
- The town is quite small and still devloping. The school system has under 1,000 students and most students aren't experienced as webmasters. As the perpetuators of the joke (I don't think it's really a true prank, honestly.) students would be the webmasters of such a page.
- The joke campaign is here as an addendum to the education section along with other school activities. Someone added a link to the FISD page, but it wasn't an article the last time I checked. I don't have all of the information compiled at the moment to make a seperate article for it, but I will work toward that in the future. I could move all of the education stuff over as a stub, but that doesn't seem very productive as it serves just as much use as a sub-note to the overall town.
- It wasn't meant to be an important fact, just a slight addendum to show a little bit of flavor. I know there's a word for that, but can't think of it.
- Those are relaly good suggestions and I think they're definitely worth moving toward. Thanks for the feedback.Halberd 02:36, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
- I see what you mean about the prank thing, now, I didn't realize someone's been putting something other than what the original arguement was over until I checked out the page history. In that case, everything I said still holds true, I just actually understand what you meant now. I'll make sure I get the stuff moved faster than I originally planned. >_< Halberd 02:46, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
- I have updated the Forney Independent School District Page to include information about the recent bond proposal. Also, I have moved information about the "Where's Heckman" campagin from the Forney article to the Forney Indpendent School District Page.
Re: Outdated Data
editI've now been told that the new middle school was moved to windmill farms, I apology that I got that wrong, but the other site is what I was originally told. I do not believe this changes any of the other data or circumstance involved in the above content dispute. Halberd 06:48, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
New Information Needs to be Added!!!
editAs a non-resident of this town, I pity y'all for having this in your town, and I laugh a little too. But all in good fun! Someone should add the new part about Justin Bieber Way and your 11 year-old mayor story!!! Just sayin'... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.232.106.49 (talk) 20:49, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Changed Demographic Information
editThe demographic information cited on this page on March 25, 2012 was incorrect. The information used was the Forney CCD (Census County Division) data, not the data for the city of Forney, listed as "Forney city" on the census website. I have made those corrections.
