Is it worth mentioning here that Dan also (presumably) appeared as himself on the most recent episode of The Simpsons? DJ Clayworth 20:43, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dan also played in the movie Plump Fiction.

Personal Life: The portion of the article stating that Dan is a teetotaler had given me the impression that he has always abstained from alcohol until I watched this clip from the British Comedy awards show in 2005 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH4SSwFxPQY&feature=player_embedded) where he quite admits that he's been drinking. Now, the article cited that reports he abstains from alcohol is current as of 2008. Perhaps it would be clearer to say something like "he is currently a teetotaler"? Date of Birth

edit

Anyone know why we have a different date of birth listed to IMDB? Average Earthman 09:00, 3 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Was Dan born September 10/1958 or October 29/1957 (a new date that has appeared)? Hotwine8 03:45, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Video Games

edit

Is there a list of Simpsons games for which Dan provided voices for characters? Radjago 12:42, 6 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Right off the bat I can tell you that he did The Simpsons Road Rage and The Simpsons Hit And Run; but I don't have a complete list. Belueberry 01:54, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure, but I think he also did the voice of a mayor in the game Destroy All Humans!. Could anyone verify this?

Television

edit

There seems to be confusion in the list of TV shows he has appeared on: why are Futurama and Stargate listed twice? Which of the informations there are actually needed? And it seems to drift from chronological to alphabetical orders; I'm not sure what changes to make though... MickO'Bants 22:35, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

No Photo?

edit

Why is there no photo of Mr C on his page? Mruss 22:22, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ditto, there should be a photo of some kind on the page, a Picture in picture shot with a small image of homer at the bottom. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.210.64.214 (talk) 08:41, 13 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Voice Change

What prompted Castellanata to change Homer's voice early in the Simpsons series? I couldn't find any references to this in Wikipedia. The Red Hat of Pat Ferrick t 00:29, 25 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

His Motrher/Wife

In The most recent episode, it said "Dedicated to *something* Castellaneta" Did his mother/Wife Die? It was an episode focused around Homer's Mother's character (voiced by Glenn Close) Lazylaces (Talk to me 14:08, 12 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Voice Change for Homer Simpson

edit

Dan Castellaneta claimed that in the early series he couldn't sustain the voice for the recording sessions. So in later seasons he changed his voice and he said he could cover more emotions. Unfortunately I do not have a source for this. Matt groening (talk) 23:04, 24 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Driver?

edit

It states that he had an uncredited voice over for the Driver video game, but it's not on IMDB. Can this actually be verified? I've heard the answer-machines messages and - in my opinion - they sound nothing like him! --hubare (talk) 16:36, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cow & Chicken?

edit

Why was the entry re Cow & Chicken deleted with no explanation/reason? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.79.148.78 (talk) 12:20, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Someone is deleting all mention to cow & chicken on the page. Apparently the excuse is IMDB is not a reputable source (?!), but instead of contributing to changing the source of the reference for something that the editors might deem more "reputable", the fact itself (i.e. the piece of information, which is indubitably genuine) is being systematically removed. Seems to me like there are some dark interests behind this, but I'm not in the mood to enter an edit war, so if someone else wants to pick up on this, be my guest. Currently there is this bit of Castallaneta's career mising from the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.79.148.78 (talk) 14:11, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's included here. And no, IMDB is not considered a reliable source because its content is user generated. That's why I have been reverting you, there are no "dark interests". -- Scorpion0422 16:19, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
If it's the reference you have a problem with, then leave the info and change the reference to something you deem more "reputable"! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.79.148.78 (talk) 16:07, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
The burden of proof is not on me. Why should I waste my time trying to source everything other users add? You want to add it, so you source it. -- Scorpion0422 16:44, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I am not homer

edit

The section describing his comedy album "I am not Homer" could be shortened a great deal as there is a wiki page for the CD and it pretty much verbatim repeats everything said in this page...I'll leave it up to someone more competent to do ;-) 78.86.230.62 (talk) 12:08, 17 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Teetotaler

edit

Personal Life: The portion of the article stating that Dan is a teetotaler had given me the impression that he has always abstained from alcohol until I watched this clip from the British Comedy awards show in 2005 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH4SSwFxPQY&feature=player_embedded) where he quite admits that he's been drinking. Harvestgalaxy (talk) 22:26, 9 May 2010 (UTC)harvestgalaxyReply

I moved this to the bottom of the page; hopefully, it will be more easily noticed here. Perhaps, since the reference doesn't appear to mention "teetotalism" (only that he "doesn't drink"), the way it is written in the article should be rephrased.  Chickenmonkey  22:49, 9 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Dan Castellaneta's religion.

edit

Can somone confirm that he is a christian, cause he should not be listed as an American Christian if not. I have never seen a quote confirming his religion, and a google search gave me nothing.

Just curious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.165.24.141 (talk) 06:51, 17 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Side Show Bob voice

edit

Kelsey Grammer provides the voice for this character. The article incorrectly states that Castellaneta impersonates Grammer for Side Show Bob. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.182.38.17 (talk) 00:41, 13 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Appearance on Laverne and Shirley

Dan Castellaneta appeared at least twice on Laverne and Shirley. IMDB missed it as well. He has a full head of hair back then. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.18.238.173 (talk) 04:19, 25 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

1999 Emmy Awards

edit

Under the character column Castellaneta played it says “Homer, Grampa…” which grampa are they referencing? Grampa Abe Simpson? It should be more specific, I’m my opinion.

Thrills and Spills

edit

In the section about Further career it says, "Castellaneta hosted the final of New York comedy show Thrills and Spills on December 31, 2015". However there seems to be no evidence to support this nor any evidence of a New York comedy show called Thrills and Spills ever existing. The only evidence that I could find of the show existing is this page and David Walliams's page. CosinusInfection (talk) 02:09, 9 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
