Name
editShe should be named Archduchess Catherine Michelle of Austria surely?! =\ Prince LouisPhilippeCharles (talk) 00:25, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- Even Archduchess Catalina Micaela of Austria, her sister is not called Elisabeth Clara Eugenie so why is her name overly English!? Prince LouisPhilippeCharles (talk) 00:28, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
Why? Do her English language biographies tend to use the proposed name(s)? Is she associated with Austria more than she is associated with Spain? Is her status as a granddaughter of a sovereign Archduke of Austria more important than her status as a daughter of a King of Spain? Surely, if you wish Wikipedia to use her Austrian title and a less English name, it would only make sense to title it Archduchess Katharina Michaela of Austria - rather than mixing Austrian and Spanish elements?
As for Isabel=Isabella=Elisabeth=Elizabeth, we've been over this so many times. Isabella is English for Isabel (most of the time). England had three queens named Isabella. Surtsicna (talk) 14:36, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
Issue Frankly i am confused, it lists four children under issue but later when i lists her children it lists about ten - can someone please elaborate? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.210.163.40 (talk) 20:16, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
Image
editThere is a controversy surrounding File:Catalinamicaelaspain65.jpg regarding both the painter and, by extension, the subject, with the image commonly referred to as "Lady in a fur wrap" and attributed to El Greco (see for example here and here). I have thus exchanged it for one that undoubtedly shows Catherine Michelle. Huon (talk) 20:59, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
- somebody is interested in placing again and again the portrait of Lady in a fur wrap...just for saying it's from Anguisola? Nowadays consense is it's not from that painter, and there are doubts it's Catherine Michelle. Well..of course somebody is interested in increasing Anguisola's works. 93.156.74.203 (talk) 16:21, 18 February 2023 (UTC)

Catherine Michelle of Spain → Catalina Micaela of Spain – The current article title is another example of one of those names that is only found on wikipedia or as a result of wikipedia. English speakers do not translate "Micaela" to Michelle. They are different names: Michelle is a French form. Michaela is a perfectly normal English-language name that everyday people are familiar with. Use common name as found in reliable English-language sources: [1][2][3][4][5][6].
