– The 2015 article was moved several times, and there doesn't appear to have been any formal discussion about the naming of these articles. Articles on bids for the Olympics don't mention the Paralympics, and most sources don't mention that either. As a result, I don't think it's necessary to mention Parapan American Games in the title. power~enwiki (π, ν) 18:50, 24 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Power~enwiki: I had the same position as you; I initially moved all the bid articles to just include Pan American. However, the bids for the Pan American and Parapan American Games have not always been the same. It was only until after the 2007 games that cities bid for both games. The 2007 Pan American games eventually took the Parapan american games as well. In 2005, 2003, and 1999 (and even prior, but I believe there wasn't "official" Parapan games), cities bid for the Pan and Parapan games separately.
Ultimately, I do not mind either way. I just want a consistent naming convention. Pbroks13 (talk) 19:00, 24 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
After some thought, the cities that are bidding for these games are bidding for the main even -- the Pan American Games. The Parapan American games come with it. Per WP:CONCISE, the title of the articles should be "Bids for the XXXX Pan American Games." Pbroks13 (talk) 13:42, 25 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
- I am fine with either. However, the bid is for both events, not just the Pan Am Games. Shouldn't that be reflected in the title? Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 16:20, 26 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

- I'm usually in favour of maintaining consistency for similar articles. So I looked at Bids for the 2010 Winter Olympics and Bids for the 2018 Winter Olympics. Both pages redirect Paralympic bid pages to their respective Olympic bid pages. I can draw parallels between Olympic/Paralympic bid pages with Pan Am/Parapan Am bid pages. I agree with shortening the title for Pan Am bid pages while creating redirect pages for the Parapan Am bid pages back to the respective Pan Am page.
