Ultimatrix?
editAccording to list of "Ben 10: Alien Force" episodes, it says Ben loses the Omnitrix and the creator gives him a new one called the Ultimatrix. This might not be completely true, but I think it's worth mentioning. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rocknroll47 (talk • contribs) 17:19, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
- According to where? Another wikipedia page, or somewhere else? GedUK 17:53, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
On the list of alien force episodes here on wikipedia. i don't know where they got the sources for that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rocknroll47 (talk • contribs) 13:59, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, I saw that on there, but it's not sourced there either. GedUK 14:05, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

I think its from something from the Cartoon Network Asia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.129.66.23 (talk) 17:40, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Actually, the Ben 10 wiki confirmed that the Ultimatrix will be replacing the Omnitrix. Sirius85 (talk) 21:28, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- Wikis aren't valid sources, anyone could go and there and say it was happening. Needs to be something from Cartoon Network really, or the producers. GedUK 08:42, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
But aren't the wikis based off of the information from the valid sources? Sirius85 (talk) 23:10, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- Heh, they should be, but some of the smaller ones, are less strict than we are here, so are plagued with gossip, speculation and misinformation. GedUK 11:27, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
- Um, you guys're just reading too much into this. Wouldn't it make sense that he was given the Ultimatrix, since his old one got destroyed during that destruct code Ben placed on Vilgax? Considering that I dunno, that this could be the follow up of Alien Force? Zeta Nova 21:44, 26 March 2010 (UTC).

I agree 100% with ETLamborghini! We need confirmation from CN or the Ben 10 production team that the show has changed name! Is anyone on here an active member of Dwayne McDuffie's forum? It may be worth asking him for confirmation either way? Cannonbolt2 (talk) 13:35, 17 February 2010 (UTC)- Strike that! Ultimate Alien is the title... Cannonbolt2 (talk) 12:27, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
- Did you read the sources, or did you just delete them after you saw "Toy Fair"? Because DC Comics are ALSO identifying their comics based on the series as "Ultimate Alien". Now, why would both the toys and the comics be going under a different name? - Chris McFeely (talk) 16:14, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- I viewed the sources, and there was no mention of a show named Ben 10 Ultimate Alien.--ETLamborghini (talk) 19:57, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Dwayne Mcduffie, The Story-editor and writer, has refered to show as Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. Here's the link http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=24955. I would change it myself but I don't know how to do the reference correctly and I don't want people to think I'm vandalizing. Skute (talk) 23:19, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah... sorry to tell you this, but that source is fake. You can clearly tell that that is just some fanboy pretending to be Dwayne Mcduffie, but they did a pretty good job of making it sound real. So yeah, Ben 10 Evolutions all the way. Truebeliever (talk)
- Are you f***ing serious? That's no fanboy. CBR is about as reliable as you can get. That's a source confirming the title change. So either Evolution and Ultimate Alien are two separate things, or the name has been changed. There should be no reason to oppose. And if consensus is reached, and we need an editor to move the page, I know how. Rau J (talk) 05:03, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- Dwayne confirmed on his Facebook page that the new series is called Ultimate Alien and if that source Skute provided is considered reliable, I see no problem in moving the page and using that source! Maybe we should conduct a straw poll here to try and reach a consensus? Cannonbolt2 (talk) 11:56, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- We need an official announcement from a reliable source; something similar to the Ben 10 Evolution announcement, like this [1] or this [2]. I have yet to find something similar to this regarding Ultimate Alien.--ETLamborghini (talk) 16:01, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- I agree that an official announcement would be best. But children's shows (unfortunately, thats what it is) don't get the same kind of coverage as shows aimed at older audiences. (Spectacular aside) But with Upfront 2010 coming soon, it shouldn't be long until an announcement is made. Assuming there is one. Also, Facebook is about as reliable as a blog. CBR is a news source. Also2, polls aren't really a reliable way of deciding things. ETL is right on this. A source stating the change is required. Rau J (talk) 21:47, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- My poll idea was aimed at seeing what the overall consensus is, not to make the actual decision. That would come after further discussion. However, I agree a reliable source is needed before any action can be taken. I take it the source provided by Skute isn't? Also, Dwayne has mentioned on his forum a few times that Alien Force is aimed at an older audience then the original Ben 10. Will this make more reliable sources availible in future? Who knows! Facebook cannot be used as a source of course, but I think its a valid point that we arn't discussing "is the show called Evolution or Ultimate Alien?" anymore. We know its called Ultimate Alien, its just a task now to get a source to use on here... Cannonbolt2 (talk) 22:21, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- CBR is one of the most reliable news sources. They include in their news reports if it's speculation of confirmed, even. But what we need is a source saying the title has been changed. McDuffie specifically stated:
And "Ben 10 Alien Force" is racing towards the series finale. And right after that, there is a second spin-off show called, "Ben 10 Ultimate Alien" where we are really shaking stuff up so if you're into Ben 10 at all, this is a really good time for you.
- He didn't elaborate because that's not what they were talking about. Evolution could still happen in some form or another. CBR reports on comic book, and comic book related, news. Things like events, creative teams, things like that. He was there because of Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. I think what ETL is wanting (and if I'm right, then it really is what we should be waiting for) is a Press Release. That is the most formal kind of professional announcement there is. After that, you'd need a reliable source stating "Ben 10: Evolution is now called Ben 10: Ultimate Alien" almost word-for-word. Rau J (talk) 04:01, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
If I was facepalming any harder, I think my hand would be coming out the back of my head. - Chris McFeely (talk) 21:03, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
- Whether or not a series called Ben 10: Evolution ever happens is irrelivent at the moment. The series this article is about will be called Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. Actually, i'm starting to lean towards allowing that source and not waiting for anything stronger. If that source provided is reliable, we're just messing each other about for nowt. Much weaker sources have been used in other articles relating to Ben 10, and most info remains unsourced anyway... Cannonbolt2 (talk) 00:34, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
- Four out of five doctors agree, face-palming hurts (the fifth doctor actually did face-palm through his head and was unable to be reached for a vote). And there is no source stating the show's title has changed, just that there is a show called that. It's incredibly likely, and I'd be surprised if the show wasn't called that at this point, but there is no source stating it changed. This article is about Ben 10: Evolution, not Ben 10: 3. Rau J (talk) 03:00, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
- No, this article is about the next series of Ben 10. By your logic, this article would be deleted and a new Ultimate Alien one made. Get your head out the sand fella. I'm no longer delbating what this series is called. I KNOW IT'S CALLED ULTIMATE ALIEN !! Dwayne has refered to the show as such and even told me himself.... Anyway, i'm done with this now. For two reasons. 1 - You're now holding back the progress of this article by being blind to the facts being presented. 2 - Not being American, I have not seen the Alien Force finale yet, and therefore need to avoid spoilers like the plague! ;) Cannonbolt2 (talk) 12:30, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, Cannonbolt is quite right. This article is about the next Ben 10 series. Because if it's not, then it's about something that doesn't exist, because there isn't a show or a toyline or anything called "Ben 10: Evolution". McDuffie has now, however indirectly, made it explicit that the next series of Ben 10 is going to be called "Ultimate Alien". To keep this page in its current location is burying your head in the sand to an absolutely ridiculous extent. - Chris McFeely (talk) 15:21, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
- Considering the title of the article is Ben 10: Evolution, that makes the article about that. If it can be confirmed explicitly that it has changed titles, then let it be. McDuffie has mentioned Ultimate Alien. It exists. But nothing says Evolution is Ultimate Alien. Wikipedia operates on reliable sources, not 'he told me' and 'he mentioned it without saying exactly what he was talking about and I'm connecting the dots on my own'. If Ultimate Alien is this, then this article would change to reflect that change. As it is now, however, nothing says that Evolution has ceased to exist or changed into Ultimate Alien. Rau J (talk) 23:30, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
- He SAID the next series is called "Ultimate Alien"! That makes THE VERY FIRST SENTENCE OF THIS ARTICLE - "will be the third incarnation of Cartoon Network's Ben 10 franchise" - WRONG. - Chris McFeely (talk) 15:29, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
- He never said Ultimate Alien was Evolution. As it stands, you have him saying the third show is Ultimate Alien and you assuming that Evolution has changed titles. I agree that it's almost a certainty, but there needs to be a source for the name change. Rau J (talk) 18:14, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
- Dude. He SAID that the third show is Ultimate Alien. That means that either Evolution IS Ultimate Alien, OR that Evolution is something else which is NOT THE THIRD SHOW. THEREFORE, the information in this article is wrong, whatever way you slice it, because it says Evolution is the third show, which it is now absolutely not. (And yes, this IS an absolutely ridiculous chain of logic, which is me bending over backwards to accomodate this artificial asinine limitation). - Chris McFeely (talk) 02:30, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- "Artificial asinine limitation" dude, props for the awesome word play. Also, WP:IAR. By Wikipedia guidelines, this should not pass. I agree that it is damn near 100% that Ultimate Alien is Evolution, but with out an rs, it shouldn't be added. However, I say we evoke IAR under the idea that: Consensus could not be reached due to the lack of a reliable source stating the information, despite all participating parties knowing the information to be true. And then with the idea that, should the information we assume to be correct isn't, we can just restore a correct version. Or add the eventual rs. I think this satisfies both sides. I was mainly arguing that we needed a source (of the name change), but today I remembered IAR, which is literally a means to ignore that. Rau J (talk) 05:10, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- Also, just for the sake of completion. This is OR. And there are such things as OVA series, which are series of movies not released theatrically. Which is pretty much what Marvel and DC are doing with their animated properties. It would be no stretch to think that Cartoon Network might try something like that. (just pointing out that there could be two concurrent Ben 10 series) Rau J (talk) 05:35, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
Wait, I thought this series was called "Evolutions". Tish (talk)
- That is what the discussion is about. Whether or not the name has been changed, and whether or not to move the article to a different title. Rau J (talk) 09:11, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
- So stupid, it's already been revealed by the "head honcho" (McDuffie) himself plus it was revealed on several cartoon news sites (you know were to look). And when it goes through McDuffie (or any creator for that matter), it's pretty much a done deal. Zeta Nova 11:42, March 12, 2010 (UTC)
- Here is the proof, this tweet was tweeted by Ben10Toys (Bandai's official Twitter account). It says that " follow-on to the Cartoon Network show "Ben 10 Alien Force" will be titled "Ben 10 Ultimate Alien" and will premier in April in US ".
Then? This page should be definitely moved. ♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 06:15, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
- Is this tweet the reason why everybody keeps saying the show has been renamed? Sorry, but that's not acceptable as a reliable source. There still hasn't been any official announcement and/or article about this show online, or even a promo on TV. If this show was to premiere in April there would have been something of the sort by now. --ETLamborghini (talk) 15:07, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
- So, even though the absolute fact, as stated officially by Bandai, that the next Ben 10 cartoon is called "Ultimate Alien" is now right in front of you, staring you in the face, you're still saying no because Wikipedia doesn't "generally" accept tweets? What about IAR, like Rau J posted above? This obstinacy is clearly preventing Wikipedia from being better, by forcing it to present the incorrect title for the series. - 109.224.132.23 (talk) 12:54, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- Although I'm 95% sure the series is now called Ultimate Alien, we need a reliable source(s) rather than a single tweet. I've really been searching hard for something of the sort, but I've haven't had any luck. I've found more sources about a TV series Ben 10 Evolution rather than a TV series Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. Bandai has been incorrect about stuff like this before, so I'm not sure they are reliable enough. The CN Upfront 2010 is coming up soon. That should clear a lot of things up, as far as offical announcements/source(s) goes.--ETLamborghini (talk) 19:59, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- And Dwayne McDuffie outright saying that the next Ben 10 series is called "Ultimate Alien" in an interview with CBR that just happened to be about another project does not count because...? - Chris McFeely (talk) 20:16, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- I think for now, we should all come to an agreement and just refer to the series as "Ultimate Evolution" so everyone is happy. Sound fair? Any questions? -Tish (talk)
- Uh, no. That's not how it works. Sorry.--ETLamborghini (talk) 15:14, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't Alien Force originally called "Ben 10: Hero Generation"? Plus, the Animation Insider article notes Evolutions as a working title. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.161.42.98 (talk) 18:25, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
- Nah. ♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 03:09, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
- "Hero Generation" is the Canadian equivalent title of Alien Force Zeta Nova 21:00 17th, March 2010 (UTC)
- The IP editor is correct. Hero Generation was the working title for Alien Force. History will show that Evolutions and then Evolution were the working titles for Ultimate Alien! ;) Cannonbolt2 (talk) 13:03, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- "Hero Generation" is the Canadian equivalent title of Alien Force Zeta Nova 21:00 17th, March 2010 (UTC)
- Well here's my theory as to what is going to happen with the title of the series. See, in about 5 days, it will be April 1st, otherwise known as April Fool's Day. And what would be the best way to promote Evolution? To pull off the biggest April Fool's prank by claiming the whole "Ultimate Alien" title as a lie, revealing the true title, which would be "Ben 10: Evolution"!-Tish (talk)
- So, you mean that the ENTIRE trailer of Ben 10 Ultimate Alien - Premiers on April 23rd which aired on Cartoon Network US is also fake? The info + the new Ben 10 Ultimate game on CN Official site is also fake? The new Ben 10 Ultimate section on CN site is also fake? Come on! dude. Everything is officially confirmed now, so no need to speculate something like that. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 17:13, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
- Tish, thats not happening. Ultimate Alien is indeed the name of the series. It's all comfirmed.--ETLamborghini (talk) 18:09, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

But: http://www.facebook.com/notes/the-dwayne-mcduffie-page/ben-10-alien-force-the-final-battle/10150162393545045 - As far as the series head writer is concerned the show that follows Alien Force is Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. Elena Validus Appearance
editI am removing this from the page for one simple reason. It says that it has been confirmed, but there is no citation for it so there is no point having it up until (or rather if) she actually appears. Plus, Dwayne McDuffie, the head writer of the show, when asked if this was true on the forums simply said "Who"? Now Dwayne never lies on the forum. When asked about stuff in future episodes, he either ignores it or says "Wait and See", and in the case of future character appearances, he always confirms if they are appearing or not.
Since he clearly said "Who", I don't believe she is making an appearance.Wild ste (talk) 19:19, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Weeks or Years
editCan we come to an agreement about how much time came between Alien Force and Ultimate Alien? Chaoshi (talk) 15:14, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- UA takes place a few weeks after Alien Force concludes. Ben, Gwen & Kevin all had birthdays in the fews weeks between series. Kevin's upcoming birthday was even mentioned in "The Final Battle"! I've now edited the article to stop it from claiming UA is just one week later, as the dialog from both series proves that is clearly not the case. Cannonbolt2 (talk) 00:09, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Lead section
editThe Lead section is supposed to summarize the article's most salient points. This should include some brief description of what the show is about. Yet this article's Lead does not do this. It says, for example, "Set five years after the original series..." What original series? Which series is this? Who are their characters? What is the setting? What is the premise? Further down you can then add a Plot section to explain in more detail the plot or any overall character arcs or story arcs, if any, that take place over the course of the series, but the Lead still needs some of this too.
And even the Plot section is curiously non-explanatory. It says, "Taking place a few weeks after where Ben 10: Alien Force leaves off, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien follows the now sixteen-year-old Ben. The Omnitrix has been destroyed..." Who is Ben? What was the Omnitrix? Since this show is a sequel to a previous one, the previous one should be summarized, at least in limited fashion, in order to explain how this show continues from it. Nightscream (talk) 23:36, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Season 3 or Untitled Fourth Series?
editWell, this article is a bit confusing. There's no reference as to the indication of the series having 52 episodes. In the episode list, the episode count in the table increments the previous episode. As such, season 2 should state that it has 12 episodes not 32. Of course, who ever added it might want to share a reference to a news article that Ultimate Alien will be the last season which would create a full circle for the supposed 52 episodes indicated in the main article.
Last episode (as of this discussion), is April 29, that's already a 2-month hiatus. I don't really know how seasonal count is when it comes to Cartoon Network show. I follow live scripted American programs and there's usually a 3 month hiatus before the beginning of the next season. Although, according to the episode list, episodes 1 to 8 of the first season was broadcast with a 4-month hiatus before it continues with the remaining episodes of the same season. Similar to Doctor Who series 6.
Also in the TV template, someone edited it and put "Followed by Untitled Fourth Series" but without any reference to a press release or news story. Kindly update those articles. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.201.168.143 (talk) 13:31, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
