Penknife

What was the fight with the penknife about? What was the reason Field wasn't seated? Was there a vote on it? Why was another politician not seated after the argument and assault? FloridaArmy (talk) 18:05, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

It was during the American Civil War, there was issues with politics at the time - nothing I could find goes into great detail over the incident. Louisiana was not the only Southern state to not have US Congress representation that year. Please feel free to further develop it as you see fit.
