Central response?
editThe lead states that calls go to the nearest police station, however the source provided states that calls go to a central intake. Which is correct? Flat Out let's discuss it 05:08, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi 'Flat Out let's discuss it The call goes to the nearest local police station and not for any central intake. But the number is same all over India which you might have misinterpreted as being a central intake. See this for reference [1]. Lakun.patra (talk) 05:17, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- I'm sure you are correct, but the source in the article states" From June, the responsibility of handling emergency response was moved from the local police station to the central control room in the police commissioner's office in Egmore." It seems the source doesn't support what is in the lead. Flat Out let's discuss it 05:20, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- This is the case for only Chennai due to the laxity shown by the local police stations. The calls are now handled by the commissioner's office in Egmore and the information is passed on to the local police. Please check the quote "The local inspector was earlier in charge of response to emergency calls and we found some laxity in operations." Lakun.patra (talk) 05:31, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying Flat Out let's discuss it 05:37, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
