Timeline

edit

After more than seven years of construction, the Taipa line between Ocean and Taipa Ferry Terminal, previously known as Macau-Taipa Line Phase I (Taipa section), began operations on 10 December 2019,[3][4][5] serving a total of 11 stations with 9.3 km in length.

The system closed on 19 October 2021 for six months to replace all 124 km (77 mi) of high voltage cables.[6]

The Taipa–Barra extension of 3.4 km opened on 8 December 2023, with service first covering Macau Peninsula.[7]

Union Hospital station opened on 1 September 2024, providing a platform for interchange with the Seac Pai Van line opening on 1 November 2024.[8]
