The Macaúbas school shooting was a school shooting that occurred at Aloyiso Short State School (now CETEP) in Macaúbas, Bahia, Brazil, on 6 August 2001. 18-year-old Robério Souza de Oliveira shot six students and a teacher with a shotgun at a school in Macaúbas, after the shooting the perpetrator fled and committed suicide.[1][2][3][4]

At around 8 a.m., unemployed farmer Robério Souza de Oliveira, 18, jumped over the wall of the Aloyiso Short State School. Having gained access to the premises, Oliveira went to a classroom without saying anything. Oliveira began shooting at the students, injuring six students aged between 14 and 17. Teacher Adriana Cássia Beatriz Bastos Pinto was also wounded during the attack. Oliveira fled the school and went to a nearby hill, where he was surrounded by the police. Soon after, Oliveira killed himself with a shot to the head. The weapon used in the attack was a shotgun.
