Summary

Description
English: ആർക്കിയോളജിക്കൽ സർവേ ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ എടുത്ത ചിത്രം. This is a pre-10th century Hindu temples complex consisting of an apsidal plan Shiva temple and a circular plan Vishnu temple in Perumanna (Paramanna) about 15 kilometers east of Kozhikode. The site has many ruins and structure foundations from temple expansion during the Zamorins era. The temple records state that this temple was destroyed and desecrated by the army of Tipu Sultan. The statues in the sanctum show chopped limbs, defacement and a few which have been beheaded. The temple walls have some notable though damaged historic artwork. This is one of the temples that was photographed by British archaeologists in 1901, and these photographs are now at the British Library.
