Notes
Deutsch: Nach Auskunft der Enkelin Carl Röttekens, Frau E. Rötteken, ist das Bild der Sennerpferde ursprünglich am linken Bildrand etwa zehn Zentimeter länger gewesen. Nach einem Wasserschaden sei die Beschädigungen links entfernt und eine ein Fohlen mitführende Stute am linken Bildrand vollständig übermalt worden. Auch der leicht beschädigte Hintergrund sei im Bereich links oben fast bis zur Bildmitte übermalt worden. Dadurch sei eine fast waagerechte Horizontlinie neu geschaffen worden.
