Summary
| Description |
English: Canadian prog-rock superstars Saga celebrated 40 years together with a short tour of Germany & Netherlands. Their set was divided into a 45 minutes acoustic opener set against a folksy backdrop of an old library in a Colonial-era town house, followed by a full-on electric set with back-projection of scenes from their album artwork and songs. Billed as the Final Chapter Tour, after 40 years of touring the guys are finally hanging up their tour jackets.
Front-man Michael Sadler is still as engaging as ever, even without his long flowing dark hair whilst founder Ian Crichton on guitar still puts in a virtuoso performance both acoustically and on electric guitars. Brother Jim Crichton puts down a solid bass line abetted by new-ish (2012) drummer Mike Thorne. Jim Glimour, who first joined Saga in 1979 layers the sound with intelligent keyboard coverage and some great solo riffs.. All in all, a night to remember. |
