English: This is an all metal made peace monument established in 2009 by the Dutch Embassy at the Gulu District Local Government headquarters, it depicts two children (a female and male) reading a book on top of 20 piles of books, monument was established in honor of the end of the 20 years war of the Lord's Resistance Army led by Joseph Kony (there used to be guns laid at their feet but it no longer exists. the guns that used to be laid at the feet of the children shows that let's put down firearms and focus on dialogue) |
