English: Photographic portrait of Mrs. Jotham Bixby, Long Beach, [s.d.]. The bust of Mrs. Bixby is framed by an oval. She wears a chain brooch, earrings, choker, and a dress with lace trim. Her face, in three-quarters profile, seems smooth and relatively young. Her hair is parted down the center and pulled back into a loose, decorative braid. The stamp at the right of the photo reads"[...] Rolofson, S.F."Her husband, Jotham Bixby was the founding president of the Bixby Land Company which was valued at $775,000--a considerable sum at the time, although the company by that time had also incurred $426,000 against it. Jotham remained president until the died in 1917. Photoprint reads:"Margaret Hathaway".
