Description
Deutsch: Der in Marmor aufwändig gehaltene Grabstein und zugleich Asche- oder Cineraraltar des Freigelassenen Lucius Volusius Urbanus, der Nomenclator eines Zensors war. Die Grabstele stammt aus dem Kolumbarium der Volusii Saturnini, welches sich an der Via Appia befunden hatte. Der Kunsthistoriker Dr. Thomas Raff nimmt wegen der stilistischen Ausgestaltung der Ruhestätte an, dass man den Altar in die Regierungszeit des Kaisers Claudius einordnen kann (Kreisbote). Der Grabstein ist in den Vatikanischen Museen ausgestellt.
