INDIAN PRIME MINISTER AT CANADIAN PARLIAMENT OTTAWA.
During his three-day visit to Ottawa in October, 1949, the Hon'ble Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister of India was invited to address the Canadian Parliament in the House of Commons. The Hon'ble Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is seen here leaving the Parliament Building through the main entrance. At his right are seen Shrimati Vijaya Lakshmi, Indian Ambassador, to the U.S. and Right Hon'ble Louis S.St. Laurent, Prime Minister of Canada. Behind him from left to right are seen Mrs. S.K. Kirpalani, Mr. S.K. Kirpalani, High Commissioner for India in Canada, and Mrs. Indira Gandhi, daughter of the Indian Prime Minister.
