Summary

English: The smaller shape is a chiliagon, a 1000-sided regular polygon. The larger shape is a section of another chiliagon, approximately 200 times larger than the first. The location of the vertices in the larger shape are indicated by the crossing lines.

This shows how a small chiliagon looks like a circle, while when a chiliagon is blown up so that you can see the individual sides, it's very difficult to see the bend angle between two adjacent sides. As the number of sides approaches infinity, a polygon approximates a circle...
