Cassie Silva is an American actress, singer, and performer. She made her Broadway debut in 2010 and has held roles in movies, television, and theater.[1] As of April 2024, Silva is a principal with the North American "Boleyn" tour of the musical Six starring as Anne Boleyn.
Early life
editSilva is a native of Los Angeles and began her professional career when she was five years old.[2] She left Los Angeles when she was 15, moving first to Colorado and eventually to New York.[3]
Career
editSilva played Brenda in the 2007 movie Hairspray, directed by Adam Shankman.[4]
In 2008, Silva competed on the reality show Legally Blonde: The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods on MTV.[5][6] She also appeared in an episode of the TV show Dexter.
Silva made her Broadway debut in 2010 in the musical Rock of Ages.[7] In 2013, she joined the Broadway cast of Matilda the Musical as an ensemble member and the understudy for Mrs. Wormwood. She continued to perform the role of Mrs. Wormwood in the first national tour of Matilda in 2015.[8]
Silva joined the cast of Six on Broadway in 2022, covering the roles of Anne of Cleves and Catherine Howard. From March 2022 to July 2023, Silva covered the roles of Anne Boleyn, Anne of Cleves, and Catherine Howard on the first North American tour of Six (known as the Aragon tour). In August 2023, Silva was announced as a Universal Alternate for the Broadway production of SIX,[9] performing as Catherine of Aragorn, Anne Boleyn, Anne of Cleves, and Catherine Howard.
As of April 2024, Silva plays Anne Boleyn in the national touring company of SIX.[10] She refers to her portrayal of Anne Boleyn as her "Annie Bo" and describes her portrayal of the character as "earnest." [11]
Personal life
editIn addition to her performing career, she is a coach, teacher, and speaker.[12]
