The third season of All American premiered on The CW as a mid-season replacement on January 18, 2021. The season consisted of 19 episodes and aired until July 19.
The season picks up from the second season finale as Spencer James returns to South Crenshaw High for his senior year with Billy Baker by his side as the new head coach for the South Crenshaw Chargers following Corey James' death in the previous season. However, this results in the Beverly/Crenshaw rivalry becoming very personal now that it’s friend versus friend, and father versus son.
The episode "All American: Homecoming" served as the back-door pilot episode for the spin-off series All American: Homecoming.
