Ana González Rodríguez (born August 26, 1970), better known as Ana Locking, is a Spanish fashion designer, businesswoman, and photographer.[2] She was born in Toledo and educated in Madrid.[3] Ana is also a judge on Drag Race España.[2]

Career
editIn 1997, Ana Locking, together with Óscar Benito, founded Locking Shocking, a ready-to-wear fashion label claiming to maintain "strong ties with other artistic disciplines."[4] The team received a variety of accolades, including:
- The Young Designer's Premio L'Oreal (2003) [2[5]
- The Spanish Marie Claire, a Gran Prix de la Moda (2004) [4][6]
Their partnership lasted until 2007, when the label effectively disappeared due to the decision of their business partner, Humana Cultura y Comunicación.[7][8]
In 2008, she launched a new ready-to-wear fashion label, Ana Locking [6] [7], which received multiple accolades, including:
- the Premio L'Oréal (2008) [8[9]
- the Premio Mujer Fun Fearless Female, which was awarded by the Spanish Cosmopolitan (2009) [10]
- the National Fashion Design Award, which was bestowed by the Ministry of Culture of Spain (2020).[11]
- the Gold Medal of Merit in Fine Arts, which was awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Spain in 2021.[12]
- the Madrid Culture Award, which was awarded by the Community of Madrid in 2022.[13]
In 2021, Ana Locking became a recurring judge on Drag Race España. [2]
Personal life
editIn 2020, Locking was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery and radiation therapy. In July 2020, it was confirmed that she was in remission.[14]
