Wołyńce ([vɔˈwɨɲt͡sɛ]; Lithuanian: Valinčiai[3]) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Puńsk, within Sejny County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, close to the border with Lithuania.[4] It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) east of Puńsk, 19 km (12 mi) north-west of Sejny, and 128 km (80 mi) north of the regional capital Białystok.

From 1975-1998 the village was administratively governed by the Suwałki Voivodeship.
History
editThe noble village of the was located at the end of the 18th century in the Grodno district of the Trakai Voivodeship in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.[5]
In 1827 it was recorded that the population of the village numbered at 134 and 15 homes and in 1893 it was numbered at 407 people and 28 homes.[6]
