edit1. First question - answer below please. Is this useful to markup or should another example be found?Student7 (talk) 19:20, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Comments on markup below this line please
editThe above is a possible boilerplate that we can mark up for census data. Note that we are not being creative here. This is just the basic stuff. I used this one because it seemed like an imaginative way to display information, but did not stray beyond the basic information.
Let's just see, for starters, how useful this is to markup. If editors don't agree that the exercise is worthwhile for this example, why even start? Thanks. Student7 (talk) 19:20, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
- This is cool. What do you think we should do next?--Tomwsulcer (talk) 19:46, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
- One generalized comment, wondering what you think -- I used to work in market research and one of the things was not to use numbers that were too precise; like, my boss would favor 13% rather than 12.8%, that is eliminating decimal points particularly when the data weren't that accurate to begin with. That way, it's easier to compare numbers (since bigger numbers have more digits). But wondering what you think.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 19:48, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
- I kind of concur but other editors won't support it. I suggest limiting to one decimal place, now that you've brought it up. I guess we need to state our "axioms" someplace, too. That would be input to the bot.
- BTW, I don't know how to get a bot generated. The ones we have proposed are not trivial! Student7 (talk) 18:55, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
- I don't understand "to markup".
- The lead phrase should be "As of Census 2010" or "According to the 2010 Census", etc, with link specifically to that article.--P64 (talk) 18:28, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
