Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Template editor

Template editor

I am a long time editor of Wikipedia (having been on Wikipedia since May 2011, over 13 years), and have made over 7,530 edits with over 570 of them being template edits (8.2% of my total edits); I personally feel I am responsible when it comes to templates (having not vandalized any templates and even created several, such as iOS version table), and I have discovered numerous instances where I wanted to edit a template to fix or add something, but couldn't, because of the lack of the necessary permission, so I have been restricted to only being able to edit non-template editor protected templates, which while quite abundant, restricts me from being able to directly improve or edit templates protected under that permission. If granted the permission, I will thoroughly test any module or template I edit that is protected by this permission if a given change I make is either big in scope or needs testing. I also fully understand my capabilities and limits when it comes to module editing, and will not make any changes that could break a high-traffic template or module. I also meet all necessary guidelines aside from 3 sandboxes/5 requests, but hopefully this won't impact my request for the permission, as I understand a permission like this is a big responsibility, one I am willing to accept. As the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility, and I am very much willing and able to be responsible with this permission if I am granted it. - Evelyn Harthbrooke (leave a message · contributions) 23:59, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
