Username policy

edit

You've been constructive on Wikipedia so far. Therefore, rather than block this account as a violation of Wikipedia:Username policy, I'll leave it unblocked so that you can go to WP:CHU/Simple to request a change of your username. Your contribution history will be retained under the new name.

User names must represent only you as an individual. They can't represent a company or other organization, or a role that could be occupied by anyone. Thanks for your understanding. ~Amatulić (talk) 19:53, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

The ironic thing is, the conversation you had about confirmation requests built up sufficient edits for you to be auto-confirmed anyway.
By the way, if you do anything on Wikipedia regarding topics to which you're associated, please read and abide by Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. It's also a good idea to disclose your conflict of interest on your user page if you will be editing in topic areas close to you. ~Amatulić (talk) 23:11, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Possible conflict of interest

edit

Hello, KevinSpiro. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article NioGold Mining Corporation, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • You need not declare your conflict of interest, but we recommend it.
  • Do not edit articles about yourself, your organization, or your competitors. Do not edit related articles. (Exceptions.)
  • Post suggestions and sources on the article's talk page, or create a draft in your user space.
  • Your role is to summarize, inform and reference — not to promote, sell, or whitewash.
  • If writing a draft, write without bias, as if you don't work for the company or personally know the subject.
  • Have us review your draft.
  • Work with us and we'll work with you.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. NioGold Mining appears to be a client of Viral Network of which Kevin Spiro, this account's namesake, is an account manager. Jojalozzo 19:02, 18 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits

edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 16:17, 19 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hello KevinSpiro. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Discovery Ventures Inc.".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Discovery Ventures Inc.}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Rankersbo (talk) 08:14, 24 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
