Declined BLP PROD

edit

Hi. I've declined your BLP PROD on Anna S. Fisher, because it only applies to living people and the subject of this article is dead. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 00:57, 9 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Okay, Trunks + Boing - Re:Anna S. Fisher Thank you for your attention. BLP PROD? I have listed references as requested. I am puzzled somewhat by this process. I am unsure why this article wouldn't be listed as a stub and then whoever was interested in moving forward could amend the article? It seemed like the WikiPolice are fast on deletion rather than inclusive progress? Are the references ok as re-edited? WilliamJustinM —Preceding undated comment added 16:17, 15 December 2011 (UTC).Reply

I am not sure what are you puzzled about. But yeah, it was my mistake for using BLP PROD instead of 'PROD' or tagging as 'Unreferenced'. What you say is correct - it could be listed as a stub and later expanded - but obviously we need some reference to verify that the article is about a real person or a complete fabrication!
If at this point someone created an article about me being dead and without any reference, it may have been listed as a stub even-though I'm still alive!
I hope you understand my point.

Declined CSD

edit

Hi. I've declined your speedy deletion request on Adyghe State University. Deletion reason A1 is for "Articles lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article", but the article, even though it is only a one-sentence stub, does clearly identify what the subject is -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 01:00, 9 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the trouble. I think I have to learn more about the reasons and assertions for deletion. trunks_ishida (talk) 01:18, 9 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

No problem - the CSD categories can be tricky. If you ever need any help with anything, you're always welcome over on my Talk page -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 01:43, 9 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

I agree completely Boing. Trunks, this ([1]) is not considered acceptable. Please view the policy guidelines before contacting a page creator. Thank you. Abhijay Talk?/Deeds 07:15, 9 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sorry again. I'm new here so it'll take some time to know all the rules here. I should have tagged it as 'stub' rather than 'Article lacking sufficient context' . trunks_ishida (talk) 11:14, 9 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

No problem at all Trunks. No Problem. Just contact me or any admin if you'd like some help. Abhijay Talk?/Deeds 02:46, 14 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your tag was late by one minute

edit

Am adding sections etc to Match-fixing in professional sumo and in fact beat your tag by one minute. : ) FourTildes (talk) 23:48, 9 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, . You must have added section while I was editing other pages..... You beat me indeed ! :)

Now, I'll refresh pages before editing/tagging them. Thanks for notifying that!

PS: I tried deleting the tags but you beat me at that too! :) trunks_ishida (talk) 00:03, 10 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

No problem, I knew you meant well. Actually, I should have had the article more ready before I finished my edit. I will be more careful in the future. ;) FourTildes (talk) 01:40, 10 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ferdinand A. Hermens

edit

Thanks for your help in adding the templates. As I am too new to Wikipedia I was not familiar with such means. In my first approach to this article about the advisor of my doctoral thesis I just wanted to get started and I added as many links (following the "no orphans" policy) as possible. I am aware of many shortcomings and I will try to deal with them soon. Khnassmacher (talk) 16:41, 22 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

It takes time to get used to Wikipedia.
Keep up the progress and if you need any help, feel free to ask!  :)
trunks_ishida (talk) 00:39, 23 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, because you improved my article last year and I have improved it since then, this is my next call for your kind help: I have entered references and categories. However, this was obviously not done in the proper way. Can you please add the necessary technical improvements? Thanks a lot, Khnassmacher (talk) 16:52, 6 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I fixed the categories and references. I hope it was according to what you wanted. I don't find any more problems with references. If you want, you can use citation template also but it is not necessary. Thanks for giving an opportunity to help (feel free to ask for more)! Also Please notify me if I messed up something! :D
trunks_ishida (talk) 19:23, 6 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much! It feels so great to find a helping hand when you need it. Now I will try to fix the LoC reference and work on further details of his life and work to meet the notability criteria. All the best for 2012, Khnassmacher (talk) 06:37, 7 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Glad to help. Greetings for The New Year and Happy Editing ! :)

Speedy criterion A2

edit

I've declined your A2 speedy tag at Viliam Loviska, because A2 is for pages that are identical to works in foreign languages at those languages' Wikipedias; English-language articles don't qualify. Nyttend (talk) 15:19, 25 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

A2 was a bit confusing but I understand now. Thanks for notifying that and Sorry for the trouble !
trunks_ishida (talk) 18:41, 25 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome! It wasn't any trouble, so you needn't have apologised :-) Nyttend (talk) 00:00, 26 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

A Sense of Honor

edit

It is a stub. It does not have a lead.

As far as merging, that is not a crazy idea. But I would prefer to see if this grows. Or if I get the urge to grow it.

Reverted your tags. Please do not tag so aggressively. Discuss on article talk or user talk (as here) instead. Tags discourage contributions. And deface articles. Is a form of what Sue calls "the website yelling at users". The readers know our content is user contributed and incomplete. The tag is not helpful to them and defaces the article. Sometimes for years, sans any action. In particular for a stub iconed article, it is already "covered" that the thing may have multiple issues...by that stub icon.

Write and contribute content yourself. It will develop you, the 'pedia, and lead to much better interactions than tagging.

TCO (talk) 14:03, 26 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Well, I appreciate the fact that you want the article to expand, but the fact remains that the information provided on A Sense of Honor is almost the same as what is already on Jim Webb's works section. That's why I suggested to merge them.
Aggressively? Not really!
But I disagree with you on the tags issue.
Tags never deface an Article and they encourage contribution. Readers do know that the content is user contributed and incomplete, but tags point them in the correct direction. If readers notices a cleanup/copy-edit tag on an article , the chances of their contribution would be higher. Also, was it really tagged as stub?
I'm contributing to Wikipedia in my own way and I feel that tags are just suggestions and not a negative remark.
PS: I will admit that it was obviously my mistake to tag it as {{lead too long}}, but believe me, it happened twice today. Instead of tagging an article as {{Lead too short}} they were tagged as {{lead too long}}. Maybe it was a problem with TWINKLE or maybe it was my fault.... Sorry for that.

Unreferenced Tag to Tyrone Trice

edit

Hi there. I noticed you put an unreferenced tag to the Tyrone Trice article shortly after I created it. I have added several referenced and just have to add the reference information and formating. I should be able to do so in the coming days. I removed your tag due to me adding the references, so if you want to have another look at it and let me know if more referenced are required then by all means. Cheers --Auger Martel (talk) 11:35, 6 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I usually patrol the articles that were created about an hour ago to avoid tagging recently created articles. I may have drifted to your article accidentally and I must have tagged it mistaking it for being created an hour ago. I'm sorry for that and thanks for notifying !
About the Article-
I noticed you added many references to it. But one reference, the first one http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=000937&cat=boxer displays a forbidden error. Kindly look into it. Thanks and Cheers ! :)
trunks_ishida (talk) 11:55, 6 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Fixed it on the article. For your assistance:

Cheers

Actually come to think of it, the second link I just posted is the same I originally posted. They both work fine for me. Maybe the site was down for maintenance? Let me know either way. Cheers. --Auger Martel (talk) 12:53, 6 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Sunil Grover, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sirsa (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
