Hey. So, I am trying to create a personal article. My name is Hollie Noelle Seay and I escaped the Bermuda Triangle of the South --Hollienoelle1987 (talk) 01:49, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia, @Hollienoelle1987! You can write an autobiographical article about yourself per the autobiography guidelines through the Articles for Creation process but is strongly discouraged in the community. For more steps on learning how to create content on Wikipedia, please look at Help:Your first article or at the links that I will send in your talk page. But please be aware that your content that you write about yourself needs to be neutral and have at least 3 independent and reliable sources.   Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 03:18, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay! Thanks for this response. I’m guessing I don’t know. I just want to spread some awareness. Because, I made it out alive where as many girls haven’t. :( 2600:1700:5A90:254F:FCE6:3C7D:FF7:386F (talk) 12:59, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

  Avi Chowdhuri

Hello, @Avi Chowdhuri and welcome to Wikipedia. Are you sure you are on the right language version of Wikipedia? This is English Wikipedia but you might be comfortable in Bengali Wikipedia. After translating, it looked like a poem. Do you have a question? Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 20:59, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question from Jayseagull (03:35, 7 August 2024)

Hi there. The site is saying I should make a user page for myself. Is that required, encouraged, or does it really matter? What do people normally put on their user page? --Jayseagull (talk) 03:35, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, @Jayseagull and thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! User pages are not a required part of Wikipedia but can help editors see how familiar you are towards them. You can put WP:Userboxes, WP:Babel codes, and any information like articles you’ve created on your user page! You can take a look at mine here: User:Cowboygilbert! Question

edit

I am learning about editing and am looking at an article on Vikas Kohli (https://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Vikas_Kohli&action=edit). Reference 1 is clearly wrong but I don't know what the correct reference might be. Do I just write in my edit "wrong reference"? Thank you for your help and patience. Hey im new to this wikipedia stuff and like im confused what happened to my edit and what does good faith mean . Idk if im supposed to post my question here but thanks !! Haloretailstore (talk) 03:32, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

I reverted your edit on a assume good faith basis because the licensing of the photo was unknown. It said that you had took the photo but the photos looked to be from Gettys, someone’s social media, or a non-free video. You also had a misleading edit summary of saying the photo was “outdated” when the photo was from an interview a month prior to the changing of the photo. Thank you, Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 04:02, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Wait so I'm confused on the copy right like what is it supposed to be and what was mine . Haloretailstore (talk) 05:05, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
It was suspected that the photo was a copyright violation due to the non-specific information given on the Commons description. Did you take the photo with your personal camera or did you find the photo on the internet? Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 05:06, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
My friend took the photo bc She a photographer for Flo and I asked and she said yes . Haloretailstore (talk) 05:26, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
The photo has to be released under a creative commons license. She, herself, has to upload the photo with at least some sort of proof that she took the photo and when she uploads it, it has to be under a creative commons license which can be bad for business because she could lose money because anyone who has access to Commons can use the image. So, in order to have the photo be released onto Commons or English Wikipedia, your friend has to upload it herself. Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 05:34, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question from Jayseagull (02:22, 17 August 2024)

edit

Hi again. I have been looking at the manual of style trying to find out what guidelines Wikipedia has for articles about books. Right now I'm specifically interested in non-fiction books. I am having trouble finding if there are guidelines for what an article about a book should look like? --Jayseagull (talk) 02:22, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Well, with any book articles it has to cover the general-notability guidlines and the specific-notability guidelines for books. MOS:NOVELS can help show the manual of style of how most book articles are structured on English Wikipedia but you can structure it to however other books look like. WP:NC-BK is the naming convention for books, this is what the title name of the article has to match.   Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 02:56, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
