Otherwise, start a new section at the bottom of the page under the appropriate date heading. Don't start a new subsection at the top of the page or somewhere randomly in the middle. I will only relocate it to the appropriate place anyway, but be a friend and keep some order here! Depending on the subject of your message (and more specifically if you join in with an existing discussion on this page), I may reply to you here, rather than on your talk page. Also, please make sure you sign your posts which you can do by typing four tildes like this ~ ~ ~ ~ but without the spaces. I can find out who you are, but it makes everyone's time on here easier if you just leave me your calling card! List of NCIS episodes

edit

Sky, I just noted the many edits that you have made to the episode synopsis entries at the afore-mentioned article, and can't help but wonder just how much of this is original research. As you know, Wikipedia has a standing policy outlined at WP:No Original Research. If these changes are documented elsewhere, please back them up by adding the appropriate source citation(s). If they can't be readily substantiated, then the changes need to be reverted or rolled back. Edit Centric (talk) 22:08, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

No, actually I like the grammatical improvements and expanded recaps! I simply don't want to see any data lost due to the NOR policy. As long as the changes can be sourced, all is cool beans! Edit Centric (talk) 11:23, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Jennifer Garner

edit

I'd like to point out that it's been proven on Ben Affleck's page, that Violet's middle name is Anne, and Marie was removed because it's not one of her middle names. Also Seraphina was also born in L.A. same as Violet. http://celebrity-babies.com/2009/01/13/jen-and-ben-reveal-daughters-name-seraphina-rose-elizabeth/ 65.92.171.64 (talk) 22:06, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the change, though you need to fix where Seraphina was born. She too was born in L.A. alongside Violet and add a period to the end of the sentence. Maybe you remove the line from Violet's birth announcement and add a seperate line that says both girls were born in L.A.?

As for signing my username, I can't, because I've been permanently blocked for disagreeing with too many other users over edits. :P Otherwise I would make the changes to Jennifer myself. 65.92.171.64 (talk) 00:33, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! As for changes, there will always be some, because everyone thinks they're right, lol! For the past three years, Violet's name has been "Violet Anne", and I didn't pay attention to her birth announcement. Where the "Marie" came from, I have no idea. 65.92.171.64 (talk) 01:10, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I thought you told me you were making those changes? As far as I can see there's nothing different other then a reference. 65.92.171.64 (talk) 02:08, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I was under the impression you were going to do the changes to Seraphina last night, that's why I asked you about them. I know you removed the second middle name for Violet already. I'm laughing because it says two times that the girls were born in L.A. instead of just adding at sentence after Seraphina's birth announcement saying they were both born in L.A. :o) 65.92.171.64 (talk) 20:03, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Johnny Depp

edit

While it's not the end source for all appearances by an actor, most editors rely on IMDb for appearances. The appearance you added to the tv listings doesn't appear on even IMDb. Perhaps he was on The Vicar of Dibley, but it's not listed there. Therefore, I have asked that you added a source for the information. It's not an unreasonable request and necessary since the generally relied-upon sites don't list it. Wildhartlivie (talk) 09:18, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have in fact heard of The Vicar of Dibley and used to watch it faithfully. That wasn't the issue, it was that it was not listed in the usual places. Thank you for adding a cite. Wildhartlivie (talk) 10:55, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hollyoaks and more

edit

I don't understand why you have removed my edits to the pages of such television programs as Hollyoaks, Jim'll Fix It, and Sharky & George. This popular plot device, the "Omega Threat", has been used in a number of stories across a range of mediums. I can assure you, man to man, that it was used "In those very shows! and more!" as well as comic books, plays and even concept rock albums; from the dawn of creation, to the present day. It is said to be based on a real phenomenon which I know little of but fear greatly! I know that it's real, it has to be, I just don't know what form it will take. I just know that the damage will be great. So please, restore my edits. I never wrote anything that wasn't true, I am not lying if I believe it. Please. Restore my edits. For America. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.17.131.188 (talk)

My friend, you do not understand. It is an absolute fact that those story lines occurred in those shows. Fact. You can check through the archives or ask a television show expert. Just because you don't remember those episodes you delete the edits? It's ridiculous and you made me look like a damn fool. Some "crazy conspiracy theorist! or worse!". Well none of that matters because it's a fact that those episodes aired, a fact that you were too goddamn viciously incompetent to check up. These are stories that millions of television fans remember and (sometimes) love. Best wishes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.17.131.188 (talk)

Jacqui Smith

edit

My edits to the page about Jacqi Smith are of historical importance and improve the wikipedia. Therefore, under the wikipedia rules, any other rules you claim are void and null. Comparing what she did to Neville Chamberlain (appeasing bullies) is exactly what she did and it's a valid metaphore. Dutch91310 (talk) 21:24, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Apologies for reverting to a change on Jacqi Smith that I had not done myself (changing her middle name to 'Chamberlain') and not posting a link to an article attributing my change. I have fixed this. Opinionated... well all politics are but I don't say anything untrue with it or even rude. Chamberlain is a good reference. We're supposed to learn from our past, not push it away when it's an inconvenient past. Dutch91310 (talk) 21:46, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sky83 I don't blame you for finding the wording on Jacqui Smith 'opinionated'. I find it slightly amusing that you apparently don't find it neccesary to remove links to Smith's Nazi practices but you find it opinionated to name Smith a Chamberlain. Or is it because I criticize the islam in your opinion? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dutch91310 (talkcontribs) 22:13, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sky83 I don't want to get into an editting war either. But I will keep on reverting your changes until you tell me specifically what it is that you think is 'opinionated' about it and I will change that. But you cannot change the facts that Lord Ahmed hollered that 10000 muslims would blockade the houses of parliament and Smith appeased the muslims —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dutch91310 (talkcontribs) 22:18, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sky83 your political correctness is stunning. This is where we Dutch and British will most likely disagree on forever. But that does not give you the right to revert my edits as vandalizing. I put references in there to articles that clarify why I say the things the way I say them. Every wikipedia reader has the right and hopefully the commonsense to check out those links and make up their mind on whether they agree with my wording. You threatening with the three strike law is indicative of hiding behind the rules while you know that I make a much better point than you do. Dutch91310 (talk) 22:38, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

The article (see citation) does not give the names of the other siblings. Do you know models. I need some help at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Fashion#Vogue_Cover_Help. The talk pages have some mages you might be able to help with. One Minnesota newspaper that is cited says they were married.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 16:36, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's a hard call. Unless you know for sure, we should refer to them as married with citations from WP:RS to that effect, IMO. I think a hometown newspaper counts as a RS. I would prefer to go with a source from her home town than your interpretation.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 16:50, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
How about if we clearly state that their relationship is has not been clearly defined in the press with some accounts describing them as married and others still referring to them as engaged. Then show citations for both.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 17:10, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Would you handle that detail.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 17:21, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
That is a good solution if we can not find anything else that is a WP:RS. Do you know anything about her being named GQ magazine hottest or sexiest woman on earth in some year. I think I saw it in some forums, but not in the newspapers that I looked at.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 17:39, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Do you have any good sources for the name change?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 23:23, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
As far as Silverlake goes, if we can find a source (Maybe LA Times) we can add it. Attending benefits is not so big though. We need more proactive involvement or sacrifice.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 15:14, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your work as a writer

edit

Hello. First of all, I'd like to apologise for creating an entirely new section. You said numerous times not to, but you also said to just add a sub-section under the proper date section, while there was no such appropriate date section. Anyway... I'm sure you'll move it around if you don't like it here (I'm just sorry if you have to).

I saw that you were a "freelance writer" (or something like that). I also read that you didn't have a book published [yet]. I was just wondering if you had written anything "complete" (like a whole story for instance), and if you'd be willing to share it. There's really no reason for that... I was just curious to see and read something you might have written.

I'd understand completely if you didn't feel at ease with sharing your work, and you need not worry about saying it directly. :)

If you'd rather answer me by e-mail, you can write at seigneur101 _at_ gmail.com.

I apologize; I saw an article at http://movies.yahoo.com/news/movies.ap.org/actor-david-carradine-found-dead-bangkok-ap that explained that he had died on the 4th of June, so I was confused... I guess if I wanted to change it, I should have included a reference, eh? Also, I should have found out EVERYTHING about the situation instead of reading ONE little article, huh?

Thanks for the correction (Yay, I'm more knowledgable and stuff), best wishes to you too, and enjoy your summer. I mean, if it's SUMMER where you are. Well, actually, it's technically SPRING, but I like to think of June and late May as summer... thinking bright! ~Heather~

Murder of Amy Leigh Barnes

edit

You did not just revert out an alleged 'racial bias,' you also removed an entire section of reaction from Amy's parents, which was relevant to the trial and verdict of the perpetrator. You also removed the fact that Ricardo Morrison's mother helped him wash his bloodstained clothes, as reported by the BBC and the Telegraph. That also had nothing to do with race but was relevant to the case. There's no reason for you to revert out facts and testimonies of this case simply because they may or may not comply with your view of it, or because you feel a poster may have an alleged racial bias. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Savethewest (talkcontribs) 22:06, 28 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Can I say this instead? It says so on the premiere for season 5. It actually explains why they divorced.

This was not a surprise for Kate Gosselin as she has specifically said in the premiere for season 5 that “parents of multiples have like triple the divorce rate”, hinting to the audience that she and Jon never worked on their relationship when they had children.

Not sure how or where to reply so sorry if this is in the wrong place! Right RE: Bengeo, I'm not sure why you think Bengeo is a suburb, suberbs do not appear on maps for a start?? Anyway whilst Bengeo may not be a 'village' it certainly isn't part of Hertford, during the First/Second world war my great grandad served in the army and was based in Hertford, back then Bengeo was a village up the hill, and very tiny. Why do you think its a suberb out of interest? Brother525 (talk) 12:03, 29 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Is there proof that Bengeo isn't a village? Someone has now edited it again. I gather from your last message you seem to have a touch of the green-eyed monster which means there is no logic in arguing with you about this.

I think over the years as the houses have moved closer to Hertford the line between the two places has been lost. I expect the same thing will happen to Hertford Heath in due course. Hi Sky83. Thanks for editing the Josh Klingerhoffer page to remove the uncited facts again. A number of parties in the fan communitiy are keen to put something in about his role, which is why I added the section about the lack of clarity thinking this would be acceptible to all. If you read the discussion section for the Peppers I have been strongly against people posting info about Josh being confirmed prior to this (and have removed his name/info MANY times) but Blackie is a legit source considering he's Anthony's dad and has posted photos of the band/video on his page pretty much indicating Josh is part of the group. Of course I cannot post the actual message since it's in my private mail so you will have to take my word however someone at stadium-arcadium.com (which was the original source saying he was in the band) has contacted Blackie as well and got the same response. While Josh has never been confirmed by the band however it doesn't look like official word is coming from the band anytime soon and probably wont until the album is released later this year in the Fall. I'm not sure if a statement will ever come from them. The Peppers themselves never really released a full statement on John leaving. John eventually did but nothing really came from the Peppers. If you check out their actual website they still have yet to even put anything up about John leaving. If a statement was going to be made it would've been made around the MusiCares show, where the band was introduced as the Peppers and not the Peppers w/ Josh. I have a feeling the only info that could be released is maybe a progress report on the album somewhere down the line or if they play more shows before the new album is released. Other than that, Blackie is the best source right now and I do understand e-mail is not confirmation which is why i'm hoping he posts something more on his page to further clear up the rumor mess. Josh has been confirmed by drummer Chad Smith. The link can be found in Josh's article. Jason1978 (talk) 16:01, 24 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

You are now a Reviewer

edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:01, 19 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Alicia Douvall

edit

Hi Sky,

I have today come across that Alicia Douvall page was getting redirected to ITV's Love Island page and have noticed that on the Love Island discussion that you though it was pointless on that person page getting redirected to Love Island, which I totally agree. I have therefore removed the redirection from Alicia Douvall and it is now a blank page so that anyone can contribute to her page. I have also mentioned this on both Alicia Douvall talk page and Love Island talk page to show what has been done and on Alicia Douvall history shows that I have just removed the redirected link, which was put in place by someone in 2008 for some unapparent reason. Hence, no need to create a new page on that celebrity. I have also mentioned that the page will more than likely be deleted if the page is left blank. Which does not bother me as my main concern was that it was redirected to Love Island. I just wanted to let you know that I have amended Alicia Douvall page. Kind regards, Onshore (talk) 13:28, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

As the article was deleted I have recreated the redirect to Love Island, probably the only thing she's notable for (apart perhaps from her assets and dating minor celebrities, but that sort of thing doesn't count here). TheRetroGuy (talk) 13:15, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

London Wikimedia Fundraiser

edit

Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wiki.x.io/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.

Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 23:55, 12 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

You are an established user, so I won't hit your talk page with a template, but it does look like you are getting into an edit war on this article and are about to hit the bright line at WP:3RR. Favonian (talk) 12:40, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. As I'm sure you know, the 3RR rule is not designed for those removing information that shouldn't be there. Thanks for the heads up though. Best wishes. Sky83 (talk) 12:43, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Surely if the information is relevant to the American X Factor, it is relevant to Cheryl Cole? On the US X Factor page there is information about Chryl Cole, surely there should be no information on the issue on either rather than have it on one and not the other? Regards, Mythical Curse —Preceding undated comment added 09:09, 31 May 2011 (UTC). Also, others have now edited the page back, however they have included no sources. Surely it is inconsistant to have the information on the X Factor page and yet have no information on Cheryl's own page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mythical Curse (talkcontribs) 09:26, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

It is inconsistent, but that's because it shouldn't be on either page without official confirmation in the form of a statement from either producers or Cole herself. Unfortunately, people do like to jump the gun and therefore information goes in well before it should. Sky83 (talk) 14:05, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Not to mention the fact that is has and remains poorly written and formatted. I have other things to do, so I'll leave this one to the kids to sort out. It's not exactly an important issue, is it? Sky83 (talk) 14:07, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Survey

edit

Hi Sky!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! Proposed deletion of Bessie Potter

edit

The article Bessie Potter has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
