Promise

I'm back to editing in Wikipedia. I have read the blocking policy and I promise to assume good faith and follow all the rules. TheRafaMarc15 (talk) 06:52, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi TheRafaMarc15. I saw your notification. The key for you is to cite sources for your edits so that it is at least verifiable. If your sources are identified, it also makes it clear that another independent writer came up with the information, and confirms that it isn't original research (say from a stats database). Let me know if you have further questions, or feel free to post NBA topics at WT:NBA, where you can also get others' opinions. Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 07:08, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

2010 finals

You left me a question in your edit summary. It looks ok because 1) you cited a source 2) the source mentions the 2010 and 2020 finals for the Lakers 3) its a secondary source and not a stats database WP:OR from an editor. I do think a lot of "Aftermath" sections in Finals articles suffer from WP:COATRACK, but what you added at least comes from a source that makes the relationship between the two years explicit.—Bagumba (talk) 04:29, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

A couple of points on grammar, which I copyedited: use past tense per MOS:TENSE ("returned", not "would return"), and "historic" is like MOS:PUFFERY—saying they tied the record is sufficient. Cheers.—Bagumba (talk) 05:14, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

June 2021

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Damian Lillard. —Bagumba (talk) 09:30, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

June 24

Sorry, I accidentally reverted your addition to June 24 as I was reviewing a bunch of pending changes. Feel free to add it back if you want. Cheers, --DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:27, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

June 2021

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 60 hours for persistently adding unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at 2015 NBA Finals. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  —Bagumba (talk) 02:08, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

July 2021

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Basketball Association, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You usually should follow WP:REDACT if someone else has already responded to your comment. Otherwise, you should generally ask the other person's permission to delete their comment. In this case, I am fine if you want it deleted, but you would not have known that. Be careful.Bagumba (talk) 08:51, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

Citations

Hi there. It's preferable that editors don't mark their own edits with {{citation needed}}.[1] If you don't have a source yet, you should probably just not add the text yet. Unless it's something obvious (WP:SKYISBLUE). Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 09:03, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

Source integrity

Thanks for your edit w/ citation to 2021 NBA Finals. One note: when you add a citation in the middle of a paragraph, make sure the previous text is still properly sourced per WP:INTEGRITY. In the case of your edit, you inadvertently made it look like your new citation supported the old text about "third game with at least 40 points and 10 rebounds". I fixed it here by repeating "[1]" before your text. Let me know if you have any questions.—Bagumba (talk) 08:36, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

August 2021

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to 2015–16 PBA Philippine Cup Finals. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Engr. Smitty Werben 03:39, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:52, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
