Getting started
editThanks for your note. When it comes to getting started, I would have said that you should start with the online training, which I see you've done. Beyond that - I'd say start looking around at articles. Look at topics that interest you, ones you know something about, ones that might be relevant to your class. Click on some of the categories at the bottom of the page, and poke around those related articles. Is something missing that you'd expect to be there? Are some of them much shorter than you'd expect them to be?
Take a look at some page histories and see how articles developed. Some have been around since the early days - 2001, 2002. Others were created much later. Some stayed short for a long time, but have grown recently. Others have been long for a long time. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:58, 6 September 2016 (UTC)

Feedback request
editHi Ramya. I took a look at your article draft and made a few fixes; for example, only proper nouns should be capitalized in the article text. I also added spaces between references and the start of sentences.
You still need to copy-edit your writing. There are sentences with obvious typos, like this one: "The need to deal with multicultural collaborative groups working in distributed environments to recover from with uncertainty, change, indefinite problem definitions and changing information called for collaborative technologies". In addition, there are several abbreviations that you never spelled out, such as CMC and IDC. You need to add more links to other Wikipedia articles so that readers can learn more about topics they might not be familiar with. And, of course, before you move any content to mainspace you need to remove your signature/date from the text. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:48, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
Thanks Ian, I have considered your suggestions, it was really helpful.Ramya Priya (talk) 16:20, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
- It looks pretty good, but there are a few things that you could do to improve things.
- You still need to carefully copyedit your work. There are quite a few sentences without spaces before the first word of the sentence. You're also missing spaces before parentheses.
- You need to make sure that you only capitalize proper nouns. Terms like "decision support systems" or "executive information systems" shouldn't be capitalized.
- Your paragraphs are too long. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:41, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
