Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of pending United States Supreme Court cases, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mitchell v. United States (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

List of pending United States Supreme Court cases

edit

In the future, please add attribution when copying from public domain sources: simply add the template {{PD-notice}} after your citation. I have done so for the above article for one entry as an example. If you could please go back and add a citation and attribution for each entry, that would be great. Please do this in the future when copying public domain material so that our readers will be aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself, and that it's okay to copy verbatim. Thanks, — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:55, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

On a much lighter note, I just wanted to say thank you for all your work maintaining this page! Edits such as this in particular, with the HTML comment explaining the renames, are really helpful for tracking the cases as they progress. --MZMcBride (talk) 00:16, 22 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Rimini Street Inc. v. Oracle USA Inc.

The opinion of the court is published, but the article is not updated at all. 2600:1702:3C30:E4C0:54C1:2010:FFA:661D (talk) 09:36, 8 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

@2600:1702:3C30:E4C0:54C1:2010:FFA:661D: I don't care about updating the articles, just the lists. BenbowInn (talk) 16:08, 8 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Maine NPVIC

edit

Thank you for explaining the status of NPVIC in Maine. I am now only left wondering what this final line in the actions means:

HELD at the Request of Senator TIMBERLAKE of Androscoggin.

Timberlake wanted this bill to die, I think (see a few lines above), so it is probably not good. Unfortunately the glossary does not contain Held (or Hold). What will happen next? Can/will the house now vote on it? KarlFrei (talk) 09:02, 11 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

@KarlFrei: I don't know. Search the web. BenbowInn (talk) 14:22, 11 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

edit

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Re: Your recent edit to Wikipedia:Perennial proposals

edit

While I personally don't care enough about the word there to revert, I note your edit summary "lay" doesn't mean layman's is not correct. Compare https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/lay#dictionary-entry-5 versus https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/layman, or the adjective definition in https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/lay (which unfortunately seems to lack an anchor). OED's website is mostly paywalled, but https://www.oed.com/dictionary/layman_n1?tab=factsheet does note that the word derives from "lay" + "man". Anomie 12:45, 29 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
