Cousin marriage and Polygyny
editPolygyny doesn't invalidate my point that saying the rates were highest "among women" is nonsensical. A marriage is between a man and a woman (or at least it was in the culture that point is being made about). A cousin marriage therefore must be between a man and a woman who are cousins of each other. In other words, a woman can't participate in a cousin marriage without her husband doing the same thing. We can say that the rates of cousin marriage were higher among merchant families (for example) as X% of merchant families had one as against a lower value in the rest of the population, but it does take two to have a marriage last I checked. Quick question
editWhat text did you specifically add/replace with in Talk:Marriage regarding {{Banredac}}? This is for bug tracking, as I noticed the #if parser was present in your added text. I have not been able to replicate what you added. So any help is appreciated.— Dædαlus Contribs 23:53, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- I did not actually know of the existence of {{Banredac}}, but only copied and pasted the text you saved when redacting that user's previous comments. I will use {{Banredac}} if ever needed again. —Othniel Kenaz 00:08, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
- I created {{Banredac}} today.. I had previously created it a few days/weeks earlier in my userspace under the same name. The one present in the template namespace has better coding.. the one in my userspace, not so much. So it is likely I didn't realize that when I had originally used it, and thus it ended up in my post. I'm going to go ahead and fix that now. Thanks for the help!— Dædαlus Contribs 02:58, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
