I saw that you did not accept my article for the Scenic Moraine Conference. I'm new to this whole article writing process, and I wanted to know what sort of sources you're looking for. I've done a lot of independent research on high school athletic conference history in Wisconsin, and my information has primarily come from newspaper clippings and high school yearbooks. Are either of those sources problematic? Moserjames79 (talk) 18:02, 25 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to echo Significa liberdade's kind welcome, and encourage you to continue work on the four drafts you've submitted. I'm not sure about whether the community is going eventually accept them into pagespace but you may find some allies in the sports writing community on Wikipedia to help you. Ask for help when you need it, and don't worry about the drafts; they are unlikely to be deleted as long as you work on them occasionally. BusterD (talk) 21:32, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Revealed conflict: one of my children went to one of the schools in one of your four drafts. BusterD (talk) 21:36, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the kind words, I've been researching the histories and traced some of the larger schools back a century with somewhat limited resources. I even learned about a few mistakes I made with the Braveland timeline and corrected them in my personal materials.
Side note, which high school did you go to? I'm a Brown Deer High School grad (c/o 1997, during the Parkland days) Moserjames79 (talk) 21:44, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Didn't see that it was your child that went to one of the schools from my drafts, my bad Moserjames79 (talk) 23:04, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Apology

@Moserjames79, I would like to apologize for being too trigger-happy on my revert. Cheers! Drdr150 (talk) 18:49, 13 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

No worries, I've been having a bit of trouble lately with edits not saving, and I am going through and creating several Wisconsin athletic conference pages. I think yours was the first one that already had a draft associated with it, but here are the other ones I've submitted for review (eight in total):
Draft:Braveland Conference - Wikipedia
Draft:Suburban Conference - Wikipedia
Draft:Big Nine Conference (Wisconsin) - Wikipedia
Draft:Suburban Park Conference - Wikipedia
Draft:Scenic Moraine Conference - Wikipedia
Draft:South Shore Conference (Wisconsin) - Wikipedia
Draft:Madison Suburban Conference - Wikipedia
Draft:Metro Conference (Wisconsin) - Wikipedia
I've also got a couple of drafts I'm still working on:
Draft:Little Ten Conference (Wisconsin) - Wikipedia
Draft:South Central Conference (Wisconsin) - Wikipedia
Feel free to check them out and let me know if you can add anything. Thanks! Moserjames79 (talk) 20:50, 13 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Milwaukee City Conference, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Greenfield (town), Wisconsin. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Thanks for your review of my article! I'm trying to do this for as many high school athletic conferences in Wisconsin as I can, and this is my first successful attempt at getting published.
Any tips for improving the grade? The state championships for WISAA are currently uncited since the organization closed a quarter century ago, but sourced from state newspapers. I think that I saw that our state historical society has the WISAA record book. Short of going through and adding citations for all entries, would providing this information help?
Thanks again! Moserjames79 (talk) 11:52, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Checkout Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools for a starting place. And because the conferences are created for school sporting activity, there are unrelated sports-related projects (ex: Wikipedia:WikiProject Big 12 Conference which might be able to guide you with formatting, styling and sourcing. You are not alone on Wikipedia; ask for help. BusterD (talk) 12:09, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
