Speedy deletion nomination of Okabu

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Okabu, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. About upcoming releases

I saw your note on User:RHaworth's talk page about Okuba. You may want to take a look at WP:CRYSTAL, which explains that, in fact, we do not want articles (or, in most cases, info in articles) about future releases not yet confirmed. There are exceptions, of course. If the media (video game, movie, etc.) is receiving a lot of press already--that is, that the pending release is itself notable--then an article may (but isn't necessarily) warranted. But just announcements that a video game is coming out do not meet that standard. You can get an idea of how high the standards are at WP:NFF, which is the rules for determining whether an upcoming film is notable enough for its own article. If you know of other upcoming video game articles which you think are also not notable, please feel free to bring them to an admin's attention, or to actually nominate them for deletion yourself. I'm not an admin, but I'd be happy to help you learn about the distinctions between what can be an article and what can't, and certainly happy to help delete anything that isn't notable. I certainly don't claim to have perfect knowledge on the subject, but I do like help keeping the encyclopedia tidy when and where I can. Qwyrxian (talk) 05:36, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
