Great Power

edit

Thanks for the comment on my page. I was wondering what was going on with that editor. It looks like he managed to create quite a commotion. I was wondering if I could get your input again at Talk:Great power#Reference to Superpowers we have come to a stalemate and was wondering if you could give your opinion since you briefly commented early in our convo. Thanks -- UKPhoenix79 (talk) 10:31, 28 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I missed your correction when I reverted. But do you think the superpower convo is over though? -- UKPhoenix79 (talk) 01:10, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I hope so. I've provided multiple sources that are used on at least three other related articles. The sources have already been vetted and deemed reliable. I'd like to move on from this obvious subject and move towards working on the project. --Hobie Hunter (talk) 01:54, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the message. Looking forward to collaborating with you pal. Nirvana888 (talk) 20:59, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Regional power

edit

The reason I thought it was unnecessary because that information is repeated in the Mexico and Brazil sections. It just seemed pretty inconsistent given that no other region had a leading sentence. What are your thoughts? Nirvana888 (talk) 00:10, 21 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I forgot to fully answer your last question. Yes, I agree with your concern and that's what I said that the article was full of OR earlier. I think it would be best if we could find reliable sources that support the country's support as a regional power otherwise it would be OR, Synthesis. It is not so simple because like other forms of power (middle, great, superpower) definitions can vary according to author and in a sense we have to interpret whether the author believes the country is a regional power depending on the standard definition of one that is outlined. I'm going to tag some of the facts that need to be cited because there's a lot of unreferenced material. Let me know what you think. Nirvana888 (talk) 00:25, 21 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Another thing is if the article warrants a paragraph for each country or if it should be more like the lists in Great power and Middle power. I want to get some opinion from the other active editors on this. Nirvana888 (talk) 00:27, 21 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Also, I feel like right now there's a lot of random facts for each country with no coherence. For example, "Japan has technologically advanced armed forces" is tagged on at the end of Japan. In that sense, it can seem unprofessional and messy. Nirvana888 (talk) 00:32, 21 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ok cool a good start. Let's see what people think. I hope UK, Species and the other editors can chime in. References are of course a mess. Nirvana888 (talk) 01:14, 21 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Think we can get Great power back to GA after its stabilized? Do we know why it got delisted in the first place? Was it because of the persistent edit war? Nirvana888 (talk) 02:14, 21 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Looks like UK has been away for the past few days. I've asked Species again to have a look. All the best. Nirvana888 (talk) 17:35, 21 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yep I've been away, interesting that my presence was missed. Is everything ok now? -- Phoenix (talk) 08:36, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: WikiProject: Power in international relations

edit

Sure thing! I'll start focusing my contributions on the project once I'm back from vacation. I currently have limited access to internet, so I won't be able to do much. I'll write myself up as being on a wikibreak on the project page. See you in a month =) --m3taphysical (talk) 14:32, 22 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
