article popularity
Hi Henrik - a further statistic to add on the already superb statistics would be the change in popularity of the article over time - that is, a ranking in relation to all the other articles as a measure of a particular article's popularity over time. A numerical ranking is already given so this should not be difficult. It would be a great measure of changing public interests. --Granitethighs 06:37, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

usage of http://stats.grok.se/
Hello,
Thanks for http://stats.grok.se/. We have found it very useful. We've had a lot of interest using the data to reproduce results from academic behavior and starting new research (example here).
Recently, we've found that a number of our requests are getting 503 errors. I'm wondering if we are being throttled, and if so, I wanted to talk to you to see if that could be lifted.
Thanks,
Dan Dunn, dunster/AT/dandunn/DOT/org or ddunn/AT/quantopian/DOT/com
Dunster (talk) 15:09, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, you're being throttled. Please avoid more than a few concurrent connections. You can help us and yourself by adding your requirements to this discussion: [Analytics] Back of the envelope data size for "Queryable public interface for pageview data". --Nemo 19:39, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. However, we never make concurrent connections - we make one at a time. Is there something else that might be causing the throttling? We will weigh in on the requirements, thank you. Dan Dunster (talk) 21:34, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

Statistics of visits
Good day! I am now important to assess the importance of the page ru:User:Samal/Копии ВП-текстов, but [1] gives a "0" visits for the last month. Although I do know that it has a not "0" attendance. At least I got there I go as needed. There are other members who sometimes visited it. Could you specify the reason for this effect, or to specify conditions that could be met for the measurement statistics of this page, or to correct an error. hi henrik, i appreciate your stats view, but i did not find a worldwide overview (for example on: pageviews on a day of a champions-league (soccer, europe) final) . don't know if i am blind or stupid, maybe you could land a helping hand. thanks a lot, jonny — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:810A:640:BE:F402:2C84:986E:BE6A (talk) 02:33, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
Since you have not responded to WP:HD or two subsequent mails I am leaving a message here
At Wikipedia:Help_desk/Archives/2013_October_8#Pageview_tool_missing_days_although_data_seems_to_exist, I queried you about whether you should run pageview stats for days that are missing, but where the stats are available. I listed the dates there.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 15:55, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
I also emailed you regarding a need for restoration of the functionality whereby one could request yearly charts with monthly bars and totals. Also in addition to 30, 60, & 90 days, could you add a 365 link. These two changes would help out at WP:MILLION, which makes it necessary to determine yearly readerships of articles.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 15:55, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

stats.grok.se
On http://stats.grok.se/en/latest30/User:Henrik , for example, the header reads: "Wikipedia article traffic statistics" It should be changed to "Wikipedia traffic statistics" as your service provides statistics on more than articles.
Also potentially you could have a translated sub-header below the English header for non-English page requests. For example, have: <h2>Estadísticas de tráfico de Wikipedia</h2> for http://stats.grok.se/se/latest30/Revolución_mexicana

Problem in Wikipedia article traffic statistics
The tool is working well for Wikipeidia stats but not in Wikivoyage. I can see the Madrid stats in en.wikivoyage, but there are several problems:
- Link in the top links to en.voy.wiki.x.io/wiki/Madrid (not exist) instead of en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Madrid
- The same problem in the text. "This article ranked 132 in traffic on en.voy.wiki.x.io."
- List in the bottom is just for Wikipedia languages. It's confussing if I change Madrid to Barcelona and pres "Go" the statics are from Wikipedia instead of Wikivoyage. In other tools the list is more explicit [2].

Rishloo Band Delete
Why the fuck take off the Rishloo page?Just. Just. Just. WHY
No matter how small or how "independent" a band is, it still has FANS. They have fans. I just.. don't get it.
But no, let's have this page up http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Sioux_Falls_Arena
While leaving out a page of a band that has been going for several years, and has a decent history.
No stats for 12/7 or 12/8

Unblock policy
Hi. I'm currently composing a post for an Arbitration case, and wanted to ask your opinion on unblocking. You once indicated that you perceived a consensus for an unblock of an individual who had been blocked. Is it your interpretation of blocking policy that consensus required for unblocking? Or recommended? Or that it is needed in some cases? Please let me know? Thanks, and Happy Holidays. Nightscream (talk) 21:08, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

experiments with stats.grok.se data
I wanted to look at the time series by hour for page views of the 50 states. How do I go about that?
With your pageviews tool, I can get daily stats. you know what? I'll settle for that. Would you mind if I downloaded the json files for 50 articles?
How about 500? or 5000? I can't conceive of anything that requires more than 50,000 articles that can't be done with less.
There are certain queries I would like to make that require a subset of the data, but I would have to open each of the files. Theoretically I could stick into MongoDB or PostGres, but never done it at this scale.
How much does it cost to store 140MB/hour ?
You can reply here or to john.mangual@gmail.com when you have time. Thank you for your service! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrcactu5 (talk • contribs) 01:11, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
Months with non-existent days
Great service, but the API outputs 0 views for days that are non-existent, for example November 31st.
i.e. http://stats.grok.se/json/en/201309/ny_mets returns as a key/value "2013-09-31": 0
Use of statistics tool
Dear Henrik,
Thank you for making the statistics tool. The tool has a drop-down list to select a language version of Wikipedia from which you want statistics. The Afrikaans language is not in this list. I hope you can add this.
Also, I wonder about "It is easily susceptible to deliberate attacks and manipulations, but for most articles it should give a fair view of the number of views. I wouldn't base any important decisions on these stats." At the Dutch Wikipedia, people often refer to this tool for decisions about disambiguation pages. What do you think about this? I don't expect people will try to manipulate statistics to influence such decisions, also we are aware that a discussion about a page will influence the statistics so usually only data from before the discussion are used.
Best regards, Bever (talk) 20:21, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
Downloading pageview statistics
Hi Henrik!
I am currently working on thesis research on Wikipedia pageviews; as part of it, I'm hoping to obtain daily pageview data for several pages. The dumps that I've found are massive files containing a lot of information that I do not need, and the stats.grok.se page doesn't seem to have a download function. I'm hoping to get the pageview data for several pages in a CSV or text format. Could you point me in the correct direction? Thank you so much!

Stats from January 5 seem to be only partial totals.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 06:03, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
- There was an issue with the production of raw data, see [Analytics] Udp2log consumers / Eventlogging issues from 2014-01-05. --Nemo 16:10, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
Permanent?
Assuming that the problem does eventually get fixed, what I'd like to know is whether or not the data for the few days with missing figures can be saved, or if it is permanently lost. What exactly was the case last time something similar to this occurred? Also quite interesting to see that Henrik's talk page becomes a festival every time the stats break. --benlisquareT•C•E 12:36, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
Wikipedia administrators please !
It seems that stats are out of order (and Henrik too !). Maybe, this problem could be solved by Wikipedia administrators. Thanks a lot for your attention.

Stats appear to back, BUT ....
Stat reporting appears to be back, but checking stats for a couple of high-use pages like Facebook (English) and Youtube (English), it's plain that the stats are all wonky. Unexpected reportings of zero visits for the 7th and 8th of Jan, even though data was apparently complete).
Stats for the Chinese pages follow the wonky pattern of the English sites: see 百度 (Baidu)
Stats for Arabic pages are also wonky, but with a slightly different pattern, and appear to have recovered, with reasonable figures for the 7th and 8th: see فيس_بوك (Facebook (Arabic) and يوتيوب Youtube (Arabic).
I hope this can be straightened out.--Akhooha (talk) 02:43, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

dear henrik,
traffic stistics don’t appear any longer for several days, counting software seems to have collapsed on the 1st of january.

Is there a fault somewhere
Hi, I am Henriette Piper, and use to view how many people who visited my wiki page. Since the beginning of the year 2014 there were none - though it should have been at least me (who visited). Is there a fault somewhere.
Thank you, Henriette Piper — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.202.112.83 (talk) 08:36, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hi- something seems to have changed dramatically for all the page view stats since the new year (for all the pages, I think). Do you know what's happened? Squareanimal (talk) 18:20, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
- No, we don't know what's happened... I think that this fact is not a good thing for Wikipedia. I don't understand why administrators don't try to cope with the difficulty
- and to create a good system. Henrik is obviously "out of order".
- IP, 8 January 2014 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.99.243.67 (talk) 20:58, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
- I've monitored this page for sometime, especially when things go afoul. Henrik rarely comes here anymore. These glitches happen from time to time. Eventually they seem to get fixed, and sometimes the lost information is even restored. (Not always, however.) What I have gathered is that when it does happen, the problem seems to be somewhere beyond Henrik's program. Perhaps a malfunction with the server or something else I don't understand, but the malfunction seems to be beyond Henrik's control.
- It would be nice if someone who understands why this happens from time to time could explain a little on the FAQ sheet. (Perhaps that would cut down on the clutter here also.) As it is, though, correcting the problem seems to be something that needs to be addressed by the WMF. Zaereth (talk) 02:19, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

the popularity of Wikipedia articles
Hey, We are doing a project that invloves autocomplete on Wikipedia titles, and we are searching for information about the popularity of different articles in Wikipedia. We have found this link : http://dumps.wikimedia.org/other/pagecounts-raw/ but we noticed that not everything that appears in the second column - in the files directed to in the link - is a valid Wikipedia article title, actually - many of them are not ! We are looking for something that we can rely on to extract information about the popularity of only valid Wikipedia articles. Is it possible for you to direct us to such a thing (if you know about) ? If it is, then you can contact us through the email : areej.costa@gmail.com

Compilable dates
[Wikipedia:Help_desk/Archives/2013_October_8#Pageview_tool_missing_days_although_data_seems_to_exist Elsewhere] I posted the following with no response:
At stats.grok.se there are several dates for which pageview statistics raw data seems to exist that have not been compiled for use.
The following dates do not seem to be missing data (on cursory glance) although they were not produced for the pageview tool.
- 1/31/08
- 2/28/08
- 3/1/08
- 6/1/08
- 6/2/08
- 7/12-31/08
- 11/15/09
- 2/23/10
- 6/26/10*
- 9/2/2011
- 10/20/11
There is a very inconsistent policy in regards to including dates for which partial data is available. The following are data during which some hours are available although no data has been produced:
- 3/3-4/08
- 10/21-22/08
- 10/14,16/09
- 11/22/09
- 1/23/10
- 2/8/10
- 6/28/10
- 7/5/10
- 7/7/10
- 7/10/10
There are other dates that seem to have been produced even though only partial data is available. These dates include
- June 2010 several dates
- 12/23,26/11
- 7/24/13
This leads me to believe that the other dates above with only partial data should be produced. Can we go back and produce the dates that have full or partial data?--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 00:37, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- TonyTheTiger, thanks for this investigation. Can you please add this useful information to the FAQ in a nice compact table, using appropriate ISO 8601 date format? I'd do it myself but I always get confused when parsing the format above. --Nemo 16:54, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
- I have gotten feedback from Henrik that only dates with complete data are desirable for compiling. See some threads below.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 18:10, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
- Sure, I saw, but it's still nice to have a summary of what days the tools can't have good stats of. --Nemo 22:06, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Stats and Feedback
The situation is somewhat weird: People, who use and appreciate your little tool show their appreciation by talking to you after it is broken, only. This type of feedback is not very encouraging for you: Good is, if nobody notices you.
I do notice. I do appreciate. I am grateful for your efforts, the labor and mind you put into maintaining it. Thank you and I wish you a successful New Year, Yotwen (talk) 05:22, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
- Well said! So many people use this service that if everyone wishing it gave a barnstar to Henrik this talk would be quite spammed, that's perhaps why they keep their appreciation silent or in other places. :) I don't know what's best to show our appreciation, personally I keep reminding the need for WMF or others to provide another stats service to make stats.grok.se's life/load easier: everyone can vote, perhaps more. --Nemo 06:42, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Suggestions for Wikipedia Article Traffic Statistics
The site for these stats has only a list of top 1000 articles but I've seen pages saying: (article name) has been viewed (number) times in the last 30 days. This article ranked (1000 to 10,000) in traffic on en.wiki.x.io. Could there be list of, instead of the top 1000, be a list of top 10,000 articles? I kind of find this more convenient. Thanks. UsefulWikipedia (talk) 14:56, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- Another suggestion: Perhaps Henrik can appoint an assistant (or assistants) to process the daily Article Traffic Statistics when he is unable to do so. I just noticed that yesterday's stats have not yet been processed. The statistics are a great tool, but it's unfortunate that the processing is dependent on just one individual.--أخوها (talk) 21:46, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
In addition to these two, the data is for April 2013. When you're viewing an article ranking in the top 10,000 for both another time and April 2013, for example, 2012 (film) ranked 2038 in Dec. 2010 and 8081 in April 2013. When checking the 12/2010 statistics, I suggest should we view the rankings for that month? If it ranked in 12/2009, can we see the rankings for 2012 (film) that month and the top 10,000 list for all months? UsefulWikipedia (talk) 17:43, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- The top rankings used to be updated monthly (and around 2008 there was also wikistics) but that's been disabled for performance reasons, so I don't see how such a feature could offer anything meaningful. The top 1000 is ok for most projects (many don't even have 1000 pages) and having 10k would probably make the update even longer and hence never happening. --Nemo 14:16, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Wikivoyage on stats.grok.se
Can Wikivoyage be supported too? --Andyrom75 (talk) 21:53, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
- Have you seen Wiki VietStats? I don't think it's been rolled out, yet. But if you go there, on the right-hand side just before "Submit" is a small area with an arrow. Look at that. Wikivoyage is in there.— Maile (talk) 23:09, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
- Andyrom75, Wikivoyage is supported, as all sister projects (see FAQ). The code to use is the interwiki prefix as always, "voy" in this case. Example: http://stats.grok.se/it.voy/top --Nemo 14:10, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- Maile66, Nemo_bis, thanks to both of you for the answers. The problem with that site is that create wrong link to wikivoyage. Let's start from the link suggested by Nemo, than clink on the first link. Both has the wrong title (Wikipedia instead of Wikivoyage) ... but this is a minor issue. The major problem regards the fact that the link in the second page is this one instead of this one.
- Can this be fixed? --Andyrom75 (talk) 20:50, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- I forgot to highlight another important thing. The dump analized for voy (and other sister projects) is quite old according to the subtitle: "Most viewed articles in 201304". While for wikipedia is possible to select the the period of interest. --Andyrom75 (talk) 21:34, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- The dump analyzed for the "top" list for every project is the same as far as I'm aware. (See http://stats.grok.se/en/top ). The daily use is fine. It is, however, unfortunate that the link from Henrik's site doesn't properly lead back to Wikivoyage. Killiondude (talk) 05:58, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

A question about "Page view statistics"
Hello. I have some questions about "Page view statistics" and http://stats.grok.se/about directed me here. I hope this is the right place.
My questions:
- When I am editing a page, does the "page view counts" count each preview or edit as 1 page view? I mean, if I am editing a page and previews my edits 30 times before saving and publishing them, is it registered as 30 page views? If I make 10 different edits on a specific day, is it registered as 10 page views?
- Does the page view count only count different IP numbers? I mean, if a person visit a page 10 times on a specific day, is it registered as 10 page views on that day?
- What are the criteria for making a page count actually?
Thanks for this application, I love Page view statistics and hope it will be developed further in the future! RhinoMind (talk) 10:46, 2 March 2014 (UTC)
- My guess is the previews are not counted but the pre-edit and the post-edit views are counted as two page views. I assume the same visitor returning multiple times per day will also increment the page view count each time. -- 94.118.13.155 (talk) 18:13, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hi there and thanks a lot for your response, however vague it is. Who are you btw.? Are you representing the log-out version of Henrik? Hope for more solid replies to my questions. RhinoMind (talk) 16:12, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

a possible discrepancy in Stats.grok.se
hi Henrik
For a scientific work, I'm trying to get the number of views for several Wiki pages via Stats.grok.se It seems that there is a discrepancy or that I am missing something: For example the number of views for Denise_Filiatrault on Feb 1st, 2012 is 9 according to: http://stats.grok.se/json/en/201202/Denise_Filiatrault Now according to the corresponding dump ( pagecounts-20120201-000000 ) it is 25660 : en Denise_Filiatrault 1 25660
please advice thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lechuzzzo (talk • contribs) 21:07, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Lechuzzzo. The format of the dump is "<project> <title> <view count> <size of content>". So the last number (25660) is the size of the page, and the number preceeding (1) is the view count. That file you're looking at is also one single hour, not the complete day. Hopefully, if you add up the 24 files for the first of february, the sum of the numbers in the second to last column should be nine, otherwise I have a bug somewhere. henrik•talk 19:23, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

pageview rawdata files
I recently was interested in downloading the raw data for the page views. Because it's a lot of data, I decided to just do one month as a test and then see how much I could cut down the size based on my own interests, so I chose the first month. I didn't have any problems through 20071210-150000, but beginning with 20071210-160000, I couldn't unzip many of the files. (I'm using a Windows machine, and I tried the gzip library on Python, peazip on windows, and used the gunzip function on cygwin, and all of them said that there's a problem with the file and they couldn't unzip it.) Is there a problem with the current files, or am I not using the right method to decompress them? TemporalanomalyX (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 03:36, 5 April 2014 (UTC)
- You're using Windows. That's your first problem, all the rest would be automatically solved if you dropped Windows.
- However, you can also try this other version of the raw data, which is more compressed: http://dumps.wikimedia.org/other/pagecounts-ez/ --Nemo 08:29, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

Quick Question on http://stats.grok.se/
Dear Henrik,
I just recently started doing some research work in the field of Wikipedia. Your website, http://stats.grok.se/, is just very helpful and instrumental to me as I try to analyze the page view stats. So thank you for that.
However, I did run into problem when I tried to access the json data for the wiki articles. It complained with the message saying "Server overloaded, please throttle your requests". I didn't however have such problem when I just tried to view the data with graph alone. For example, if I were to access http://stats.grok.se/json/en/201403/sweden, I would often get the overloaded server error. If I were to try http://stats.grok.se/en/201403/sweden, I would have no problem getting to the graph with data page.It would seem the data request to get the json dump versus to view the graph with data would require exactly the same bandwidth? How can I avoid this overloaded server problem?
Thank so much!
Yours sincerely

- Henrik, I'd also appreciate tips on how to avoid server overload. This has been a major problem since February. I know you don't get on here very much, but thanks for maintaining this useful tool. MMK623 (talk) 16:55, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hi guys. I'm, with the help of the WMF, setting up a new and faster server that should be able to handle much more traffic. New hardware has been ordered, I'm currently waiting for delivery - hopefully within the next two or three weeks the capacity of stats.grok.se will be quadrupled. You're right that json requests take as much processing as displaying the graph, but when capacity became a limiting factor I decided to prioritize human requests over robots. So I guess the tip is to wait a few weeks, then hopefully it should be much better. henrik•talk 19:16, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

About view statistics of wikipedia
Dear Mr/Miss,
I am a PhD student and for one of my projects, I try to retrieve viewstats of wikipedia from here: http://stats.grok.se/ My question is that: Is there any website or resource that I can determine the specific location (country-based) of page views?
Thank you in advance.

- Hi Aysun. Sorry, the statistics do not include any location data, partly due to privacy reasons. henrik•talk 16:37, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

A kitten for you!
Thanks so much for the offer of help. I appreciate it immensely. I'm hopeful that I have the change request submitted appropriately.
The pageview statistics tool
On the classic version of Wikipedia traffic statistics, it does not work. A few days before, it would, for en/latest , I see data from April or something. I only just see an error. Is this version being phased out? I'm ok with the current Json format, but what if they liked the older version better?
Additionally, could I see the top 1,000 and ten thousand articles viewed for all months this service was available (since December 2007)? The 10,000 can be seperated into 10 pages each consisting of 1,000 pages.
Thanks. The Ultimate New England Patriots Guy (talk) 02:10, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
- I've migrated to a new server, which broke the classic version. I've repaired it for now, but it won't have access to old data (somewhat ironically) as that would require code changes. It's slowly being phased out in that I don't really plan on maintaining it. Thanks for the notification!. henrik•talk 06:03, 8 May 2014 (UTC)

Your automod script
What's happened to your automod script? It doesn't appear to work and I'm just wondering if you'd be interested in maintaining it? Thanks. Acalycine(talk/contribs) 09:50, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
- Oh, wow - that is a blast from the past (I last updated it 6 years ago apparently). Is anyone using it still? henrik•talk 09:55, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
- Yep, I would assume, looking at What Links Here. Anyway, I've copied the template over with modifications onto my userspace and it seems to work with adding &newstatus=<insert status>, so no matter. Other people may want to still use the original though. Acalycine(talk/contribs) 10:14, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

Stats down
Hi Henrik, view stats have been down for a few days (since 20 May I think). Thanks, Matty.007 17:53, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
- Oops, there was a job that didn't start up properly after a reboot. I restarted it, should hopefully be caught up in a few hours. henrik•talk 18:44, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. Best, Matty.007 18:47, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
One year view
Are there any plans to add the one year view (seen on test at http://stats2.grok.se/en/latest_year/Zoo for example) to the normal stats page? The year chart would be so much more readable and useful if the bars were only 2 or 3 pixels wide. Is that easy to change? -- 79.67.247.248 (talk) 18:54, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
- Yes. I'm making some updates to the web ui right now, including a yearly view (and probably changing to a line graph instead of a bar graph). henrik•talk 19:52, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
- Yes a yearly summary on the view count would be awesome. Came here looking to see if anyone else had asked -- but I'm sure lots have. Mkdwtalk 19:37, 22 May 2014 (UTC)

Treblinka FAC comments
A week ago or so you left some comments at my FAC. I've attempted to address those and also asked how you would recommend going about improving the article's prose: having you point out every instance awkward wording, telling me what kinds of things to look for in general, or putting in a request to the Guild of Copyeditors. I would greatly appreciate it if you could take another look at the FAC page. Thanks! AmericanLemming (talk) 01:17, 2 June 2014 (UTC)

Strange entries in the pageviews statistics tool
I just came across the pageview statistics for Thailand women's national football team, and something seems obviously wrong. Do you know what could have caused that spike? The Bhumibol Adulyadej article is also affected. (There might be more, I just noticed these because they were at the top of the popular pages tool's listing for Thailand.) --Paul_012 (talk) 17:57, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Stats-Classic.Grok.Se
On the Wikipedia classic article traffic statistics, I prefer the old version much over the current version, but there is no old data for articles. I read your previous comment saying it needs a code change, but may I ask that that code change occur because I'm not a big fan of the new version? And, could the rankings of top 1000 list change back to December 2010? I was in progress of checking articles' 2010 rankings, and I can't know with the 2014 data. It's fine if it's outdated (I forgot to say I don't care if the rankings are outdated).A Great Catholic Person (talk) 05:24, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
Rank
Hello! Would you please explain what is rank? In some "Wikipedia article traffic statistics" pages the is a text: "This article ranked ... in traffic on..." Can I find any explanation of Rank (I couldn't find). Is there a list of ranks of wikipedia pages, for different languages? Thank you. --AllaRo (talk) 10:27, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

Regarding stats.grok.se
Hello!
Firstly many thanks for such a interesting and useful tool like http://stats.grok.se/ is. My recommendation: because each search done by any visitor is indexed by Google and remains in SERP it is better to close search result pages of stats.grok.se with meta robots noindex, nofollow and nosnippet. The status of now violates the Google Guidelines, cause it means, search result pages must be closed from indexing. Read this text by Matt Cutts about the issue: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/search-results-in-search-results/
Best regards from Berlin
Evgeniy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chillybang (talk • contribs) 15:14, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Evgeniy! Thanks for the concern. My view is that the page views exist as a page, it's not quite a search result - the text bar simply moves you to the correct page. Google is free to index (or not) stats.grok.se - I'm not too concerned if it ranks well or not, I'm more interested in it being useful for people :) henrik•talk 20:56, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
