Monteregian Hills
editThe Monteregian Hills might not be volcanic, but they are the oldest remnants of a hotspot track. The mountains are probably the eroded remnants of the volcanoes magma chambers. Black Tusk 02:43, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
That's what I'm trying to tell you. The mountains are probably old magma chambers that solidified under the surface and became exposed after millions of years of erosion. Magma chambers are a large underground pool of molten rock lying under the surface of the earth's crust. The molten rock in such a chamber is under great pressure, and given enough time and pressure can gradually fracture the rock around it creating outlets for the magma. If it finds a way to the surface, then the result will be a volcanic eruption; consequently many volcanoes are situated over magma chambers. The volcanoes barely exist now, and the magma chambers is all what's left of them. Black Tusk 12:23, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
But they were formed by the New England hotspot. Black Tusk 13:23, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
I'm not trying to brainwash you, I'm just saying they were formed by the upwelling of magma of the New England hotspot about 150 million years ago. That's probably why they call them the reoded remnants of volcanoes on this site here. Also, hotspots always make volcanoes, which is why I believe they are part of ancient volcanoes. But even magma chambers are still part of a volcanoes. I have added the volcanoes and volcanics in Ontario, New Brunswick, Northwest Territories and Nunavut to the List of volcanoes in Canada. Mount Tremblant
editHi Guillaume, I don't know Mont Tremblant very well ether. I just found that source while I was searching for more volcanoes. The source also talks about another possible volcano called "Lake on the Mountain" in Prince Edward Country, Ontario. There's a volcanic complex called Lac des Vents volcanic complex which is located in Quebec somewhere. Black Tusk 23:01, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Guillaume, have you ever herd of the Noranda Caldera, Misema Caldera and the New Senator Caldera? They appear to be ancient volcanic craters and are part of a group called the Blank River Megacaldera Complex. Black Tusk 02:12, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- But have you herd of the three named calderas above? They are real volcanoes and are not related with the blogspot address source. Black Tusk 03:12, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Beloeil
editWell done! I have re-assessed it as B-class but I think it should be submitted for WP:GA evaluation. It also qualifies for a WP:DYK. I tried to look for a good hook but I couldn't find one beyond the meaning "nice view" which is apparently not universally agreed. Could you see if you could think of a good hook for it? Cheers! DoubleBlue (talk) 05:02, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I've added it to T:TDYK. You may want to watchlist that page and answer any question that might arise about it. Good luck! DoubleBlue (talk) 07:06, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
DYK for Beloeil, Quebec

I noticed you are a participant of the WikiProject Quebec.
The Outline of Quebec was created a few days ago and is under vigorous development. It fills a gap in Wikipedia's set of outlines. It is the 3rd outline to date about a Canadian province/territory.
- Wikipedia Contents
- Outlines
- Outline of geography
- Outline of North America
- Outline of Canada
- Outline of Alberta
- Outline of British Columbia
- Outline of Manitoba
- Outline of New Brunswick
- Outline of Newfoundland and Labrador
- Outline of Nova Scotia
- Outline of Ontario
- Outline of Quebec
- Outline of Prince Edward Island
- Outline of Saskatchewan
- Outline of the Northwest Territories
- Outline of Nunavut
- Outline of Yukon
- Outline of Canada
- Outline of North America
- Outline of geography
- Outlines
Outlines form one of the subsystems of Wikipedia's contents navigation system. For more information on outlines, see Wikipedia:Outlines and Wikipedia:WikiProject Outlines.
The goals for the Outline of Quebec is to complete it to as high a standard of quality as possible, and to make it even better than the Outline of Saskatchewan and the Outline of British Columbia.
Once the Outline of Quebec is completed, it will provide an important example to others creating outlines for the remaining provinces and territories of Canada.
Please take a look at the outline to see if you can notice (and fill in) any missing topics. Pictures would also be nice (the rarer and the more interesting, the better).
Thank you.
Sincerely, The Transhumanist 10:40, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
