Hello Geaugagrrl! I stumbled on your artical on Trawsgoed and have a question about the name. Shouldnt the name of the artical be one of the two names? If the estate is better known as Trawsgoed then that should be how it is listed, yes? Hi there. I could not find information on the history of the name of the estate as to exactly when it became Crosswood. Being at nearly a 5,000 mile distance from the area I depend on experts (like you!) to assist. Do you want to move the article or should I? I fell into the abyss on this talk page. Yikes! I have read it twice (out of morbid curiosity!) and cannot understand why the page has not been reverted to the discussed spelling? Yes, unfortunately we all eventually fell into "the abyss" as it was like banging our heads against the proverbial brick wall. Seems a long time back now, but it just went on and on until it had reached epic proportions (classic example of a wiki talk page 10x longer than the article!). Personally, I'd love to see it restored to Carnedd Llywelyn. The arguments used against were ridiculous and seemed to amount to "we know best anyway" and little more. At the end of the day the spelling makes no difference whatsoever to the average English-speaker - who will find both forms in use in English sources - but it does make a difference to the Welsh. Were you thinking of reopening this can of worms? Good luck to you if you do! I think I said all I had to say the first time round but you can count on my support. Your summation was what I came up with after several readings. What is worrisome is that the WP Wales banner has just now been placed (by me) on the talk page. I guess I was drawing a line in the sand to see what happen. It is still there. I am contemplating pursing this. What I find even more worrisome is the seemingly wholesale ownership of the page by a few. Not good. Do you know who is responsible for assessing the project articles? Thanks for your support. Overall I have noticed while editing on WP Wales a cultural schism by those observant of Wales being a different country with it's own uniqueness and those that just don't seem to care or get it. Maybe this is too black and white but there it is. Well I'm stepping off my soap box for the night to go watch the new season of Dancing with the Stars. I use Notepad for nearly everything to save backup copies. I mean to make one for each of the principal areas. Should it say, Principal Area of Wales, COUNTY Ceredigion? As some areas are cities and boroughs it might be good to add? I need to surf over so Welsh Wicipedia. It will help me learn the language faster. Coat of arms image removal. Please make it stop.

Numerous bots have deleted the image at Template:Ceredigion. I have reverted each time. The same type of image is used on this template with success: Template:Cheshire, Borough of Vale Royal. What needs to be done to stop the image removal? ∞☼Geaugagrrl^(T)/_(C) 03:59, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

The bots are deleting the image because it's fair use. Since a template can be used anywhere, it is not allowed per WP:NFCC to use non-free images in them. Fair use images can only be used, non-transcluded, in articles, and fair use images must contain a valid rationale as to why we are allowed to use the image in each article they appear in. Wales category

Hello again, Geaugagrrl. Some of your recent edits came up on my watchlist and I noticed you have been putting various articles in Category:Wales. This is not normal wikipedia practice (for Wales or any other country or major category) when those articles do not relate directly to Wales as an entity. Articles on individuals, for instance, should be be categoried in a particular field relating to Wales/the Welsh, e.g. "Welsh poets", "Medieval Wales", etc. (assuming they are not already there). I'll reply on Enaidmawr's behalf, because I agree with him and I was going to mention it too. Basically, none of the articles that you have put into Category:Wales should be there, because they are better covered by their other Welsh sub-categories sub-categories. Rhodri ap Gruffudd is part of Category:Welsh royalty, which is part of Category:Welsh people (and other Wales-related categories), which is part of Category:Wales. Powys Fadog is part of Category:Kingdoms of Wales, which is part of Category:Geography of Wales (amongst other Wales-related categories) which is part of Category:Wales. Therefore, neither should be in Category:Wales as well. The relevant guideline is Wikipedia:Categorization and subcategories. Glad you understand and thanks to Bencherlite for explaining in more detail on my behalf as well. (By the way, a small typo by Bencherlite resulted in this talk page being put in Category:Wales as well, but I've amended it!). I've undone some of the edits but maybe you could do a few yourself? By the way, the same logic applies to smaller categories - a village in Ceredigion should be in Category:Villages in Ceredigion for instance, and shouldn't be in the main Ceredigion category as well. New article

Hi there! I was wondering...how would I go about writing an article about Month of the Cold Moon, a song written about January, 1839, when the US used the Cherokee people to defend themselves against European presence in the US. It was a tragic event, that in the end resulted in the entire Cherokee population being forced of their land by the Indian Removal act of 1830. After the event, 4000 Cherokee died, which was 1/5th of their population. Or do you think that would be a stupid article?

I'm a middle school teacher in San Antonio, Texas. (I'm one of the only teachers at my school who support wikipedia, but I'm also the computer teacher.) So far, I'm just here to add our school into the wikipedia database.

Move log: A5 road (Great Britain) to A5 road (United Kingdom)

This looks like it was a completely knee jerk move. Did you read the article first? There are two A5 roads in the UK, one is in Great Britain and the other is in Northern Ireland. Hi Geaugagrrl,

While I think the above message is unnecessarily brusque it is technically correct. Northern Ireland (which is in the :United Kingdom but not in Great Britain) has its own road system. The A5 there is totally separate from the London to Holyhead A5 road. So there are two A5s in the United Kingdom, but only one in GB.

Don't worry, there are plenty of people living this side of the pond who couldn't tell you the difference between Great Britain, the United Kingdom, and the British Isles.
