Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Ebola virus disease does not have an edit summary.[1] maintenance tags go after the hatnote, and you'll want to justify that one on the talk page as well. Another editor has removed it in the meantime.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Widefox; talk 19:30, 30 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Radio Shack is bankrupt, as of yesterday. The RadioShack article lede should reflect this. K7L (talk) 18:02, 6 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

I believe that would be called "burying the lede". The bankruptcy is a key, material fact which belongs right up front. Omit it and you will continue to see IP's saying "RadioShack was an electronics retailer..." as the stores are open only to liquidate inventory or to convert to some other format, such as a Sprint mobile phone vendor. License tagging for File:Delicious-orchards-logo1.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Delicious-orchards-logo1.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 04:05, 27 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for editing the article "Our Latest Catalogue". The information surrounding Circus Contraption and their music is somewhat scarce and researching the matter takes quite a while. The little information that exists is valued by fans and should be available for all who take an interest in it, so any contribution that stops the articles from being taken down and off Wikipedia is appreciated. Speedy deletion nomination of Palace Amusements

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Palace Amusements requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.palaceamusements.com/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. –dlthewave 03:38, 13 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Gilbert Tennent, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images from either web sites or printed works. This article appears to contain work copied from https://www.conservapedia.com/Gilbert_Tennent, and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Gilbert Tennent saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved.

Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! –dlthewave 04:36, 13 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Peter J. Ganci Jr.

edit

Hi. Thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to Peter J. Ganci Jr., as most of the changes you made genuinely improved the article. However, a couple of portions of the edit had to be reverted, becuase they constituted uncited material. I know you don't edit here that often, but since you've accumulated over 2,600 edits since 2014, you may have been told that Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. The passages on Ganci's burial place and his rank in the 82nd Airborne were not so supported. Thanks again though, for the rest of your edits. Nightscream (talk) 15:44, 13 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, for your edit on the article Adriatic Sea here, you seemed to have added a map of Italy and the map has a description “Adriatic Sea located in Italy” which doesn’t make sense. The sea isn’t owned by any country nor only relevant to Italy. Shouldn’t the already existing map be ideal? 2600:4040:9DED:F600:8D23:965F:1890:2468 (talk) 21:44, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Good evening... I don't remember adding that particular description; there have been many edits between mine and yours. However, I chose that particular map given that it was the only one to specifically call out the Adriatic in text. The fact that Italy is in the map should have no consequence to any reader who visits the entry and is mere coincidence. Have a great night (depending on your location, of course, lol). "Mean anomaly" vs. "mean diameter"

edit

Hello FriarTuck1981! Thanks for your edit to 2I/Borisov. You were right to fix the unknown parameter errors. However, changing mean_anomaly to mean_diameter was a bit silly. One is an angle that defines the object's position along its orbit, the other says how large the object is. For details when to use which parameter, see infobox comet. In contrast to the related infobox planet, which has mean_anomaly as a parameter, there is nothing in the comet template that corresponds to that. The mean anomaly is rarely useful for comets, many of which only visit the inner Solar System once.

Funnily, I would have liked to point you to an article that explains what mean diameter is, but I can't; compare Talk:List of Solar System objects by size#We never define "mean radius". That's clearly an oversight on Wikipedia's part. Renerpho (talk) 10:15, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
