Wich bird program...
editIf I want to learn about birds and awnser questions about birds on Wikipedia, what should I do? EAGLITIZED (talk) 22:23, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- Wikipedia isn't really meant for a question-and-answer type format, but you could try the science Reference desk. Otherwise, the best bet is just reading the articles relevant to your question and seeing if they have any information about it. AryKun (talk) 15:06, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
- In order to get involved with science reference desk and learn about birds, you have to pay. Is there A way to create my own bird education program, without paying? EAGLITIZED (talk) 21:23, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
- I don't know how you got the idea that the Ref desk is paid; it's free like everything else on Wikipedia, you just have to click on the big blue button that says "Ready? Ask a new question!" to add a question. Wikipedia in general is meant to be a reference work and not a teaching course or question-and-answer website, so your other options are limited. WikiProjects are meant to be places to discuss editing Wikipedia and not general topics, so I don't think they'll be very helpful to you either.
- Your best resources depend on exactly what you want to learn about birds. If you're interested more in the identification part of it, I'd recommend just using eBird to pick up the basics, and then going outside and birding to learn more in the field. If you're interested in bird biology, I'd recommend All About Birds and Audubon, which have some great explainers for beginners, and then just referring to individual Wikipedia articles if you want to find out more about a particular species. There's also Birds of the World, which is usually more comprehensive than Wikipedia; it's expensive, but certain regions and organizations can get free access, so you might want to see if you qualify. I just want to simply ask questions about birds (if Wiki project birds lets me awnser questions too, then I will, but I highly doubt it). Every Wiki project makes such a big deal about editing.
