Your article Bumper race has appeared in the Dead End Pages list because it is not wikified. Please consult the Wikipedia Guide to Layout for more information on how to write a good, wikified article. I would encourage you to revisit your submissions and {{wikify}} them. Image copyright problem with Image:Englandthealbum.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Englandthealbum.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Feel (the Verve song)
editYou were born in 1991? Christ - it takes a lot to make me feel old, but you just went and did it. I mean, you would have been 1 when that song came out. At least I was a little older than that. Anyway, the point is that Wikipedia is not the place for "interpretations". Those count as "original research", which is not allowed. You can link to someone else's "interpretation", if you like, provided the source has some merit and cachet (ie, it's not someone's fan page). - Maggie --64.229.64.62 03:09, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- Incidentally, it's my understanding that the person "dead on the floor" in "Feel" (and also "The Sun the Sea") has either just shot up heroin, or has just gotten through having sex with the narrator. - Maggie --64.229.64.62 15:04, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

editHi,
You should set a prefered date/time format in your prefs, and links like that will render properly and intuitively for you... --Azertus 19:04, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
The Paint
editI'm afraid there is perhaps a slight problem with the article you created, The Paint. You have listed no references for this band, and a rather thorough google search returns zero results on any of the bands songs or members. Based on the statistitcs purported in your article, the band does seem to meet the criteria for notability for bands and musicians, but as such the very existence of the band is unverifiable. Please indicate some form of reference, or this article will probably be listed for deletion. Thank you so much.--SweetNeo85 21:48, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- No problem at all. Nominated it for speedy deletion.--SweetNeo85 23:32, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Vervecamdenlive.jpg)
editThanks for uploading File:Vervecamdenlive.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. WikiProject Rock music invitation
editHello WikiProject Alternative music member.
WikiProject Alternative music, in my eyes, has proved to be successful "improving the encyclopaedic coverage of articles relating to alternative rock", and improving their quality as well. One specific example I have witnessed is The Smashing Pumpkins article. The page has gone from a mediocre work, to GA status, to FA nomination. Only appropriate, as the Pumpkins are undeniably one of the most influential alternative rock bands on the 1990's and beyond.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently ressurected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and not only be a member of alternative Wikipedians, but the rockin' ones as well.
Rock on.

Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
editSuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 17:18, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
Sure. I have to go to a meeting, but I'll try to add some more comments to the talk page in two hours or so. In the meantime, you might consider looking at some featured articles about songs (off the top of my head, Cool (song), Hollaback Girl, Yesterday (song), and Hey Jude). Re: For Tomorrow
editI can make some follow-up suggestions here -
- I really think "massively" is just a bad word to use there; something more balanced, like "significantly" (although that word is overused on Wikipedia; I don't have a thesaurus handy) would be better.
- saying someone was outclassed is an opinion. You could state neutrally that a number of sources saw it that way (and it's good that you've got a source to back it up), but using "outclassed" as if it were a fact is POV.
- The whole first section is badly worded. It's opinionated, not well sourced, has an ungainly phrase "as a sense of Britishness", and needs apostrophes.
- Increase in Stature and Critical Reception could probably be combined into a single, better-flowing section.
- Why is black and white "classic"? At very least, this should be wikilinked to some article about film noir or something.
- It would be worth giving more context for the pro-British/anti-Americanism on display here. Is this something Albarn/the band talk about in interviews? Is there a political context outside of the poor reception on the tour? is this a consistent theme in their work?
- Reference 2 is blank.
Yeah, all this stuff is totally fixable; I think with some extra work this article has a clear shot at GA acceptance, but i definitely don't think it's ready yet. Chubbles 20:09, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Your Redirect idea on The Teacher
editI liked what you did with The Teacher, because although I created the page rather than just having an automatic redirect, it still bothered me you could see the name when hovering over the link. I don't know why it's been undone, I think it was a very good idea, however I wouldn't know how to do it myself, so could you please redo it? I watch the article very closely, so I will know if it happens again and if so then I will request protection for it, I've had a lot of trouble in the past with people just taking out the article and adding an auto-redirect. Thanks a lot, and it was a great idea! Will2710|Talk! 11:53, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Itcouldbeblur.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Itcouldbeblur.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:18, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey Now!
editA {{prod}} template has been added to the article Hey Now!, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Proposed deletion of Radio Sessions - 1993-97
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article Radio Sessions - 1993-97, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. This is a Low
editPoint by point:
- Rate Your Music is not an acceptable source for anything, and should be removed from all articles
- The fact that Blur fans really like it is inconsequential
- The rankings of the album in "best-of" polls are different from the ranking of the song
- Just because it's on the "Best of" doesn't make it notable
- Its connections to Shipping Forecast are trivial
- Alex James can't quanitify that it's their most-popular song
Unless the song was released as a single, charted on airplay charts, or has received a ton of critical analysis. there is no reason to keep it as a separate article. WesleyDodds (talk) 21:45, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- Most album track aren't notable enough to warrant their own articles. Something like "Stairway to Heaven" is the exception that proves the rule. What makes a song notable enough to warrant an article is commercial and critical achievements. While the song is a fan-favorite, it was never released as a single and never charted on an airplay chart, so it's really not notable enough to warrant its own page. Image copyright problem with Image:Noel sings.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Noel sings.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Speedy deletion of "I am Seven"

This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because this article about a band does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant and should be included in Wikipedia. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
