Imminent suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
Established policy provides for the removal of the administrative permissions of users who have made fewer than 100 edits over a 60-month period. Your administrative permissions will be removed if you do not return to the required activity level before the beginning of September 2023.
Inactive administrators are encouraged to engage with the project in earnest rather than to make token edits to avoid loss of administrative permissions. Resources and support for re-engaging with the project are available at Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention/administrators. If you do not intend to re-engage with the project in the foreseeable future, please consider voluntarily resigning your administrative permissions by making a request at the bureaucrats' noticeboard.
Thank you for your past contributions to the project. — JJMC89 bot 00:17, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – August 2023
News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2023).
Interface administrator changes
- The tag filter on Special:NewPages and revision history pages can now be inverted. This allows hiding edits made by automated tools. (T334338)
- Special:BlockedExternalDomains is a new tool that allows easier blocking of plain domains (and their subdomains). This is more easily searchable and is faster for the software to use than the existing MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist. It does not support regex (for complex cases), URL path-matching, or the MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist. (T337431)
- The arbitration cases named Scottywong and AlisonW closed 10 July and 16 July respectively.
- The SmallCat dispute arbitration case is in the workshop phase.
Making ClueBotNG and ClueBot III's source code work on viwiki
Hi Cobi, I'm interested in both of your bots and wanting to use both bots (or its source code) to work on viwiki. I want to ask you that may I be able to get your bots (or the codes) work on viwiki? And if yes, what I need to do next? Thank you and regards, Anster (talk) 10:54, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
- I don't have time to port the bots over to other languages. That being said, ClueBot III would likely be easier to port over as the task is less reliant on a given language. It's source code is on GitHub. ClueBot NG also has source on GitHub, but it would take a lot of research and effort to make ClueBot NG work in another language. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 21:42, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
