Welcome
editHello, Appleangel11 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students.
If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.
Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.
Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, if your class doesn't already have one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}}
on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.
We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 05:34, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 31
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Disability in China, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Olympic. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 13:50, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
Would you like to help with a new article?
editAs part of WikiProject Disability's effort to create a complete series of "Disability in <Country>" articles I have just started Draft:Disability in the United Kingdom and I would really appreciate some help - so far I have basically just created various section headings and slapped in a bunch of links to relevant categories, articles and external sources. As you've already done at least one such article I thought you might be interested. The UK article should be quite easy to get into at least Start-class shape as sources are plentiful, easy to find online and all in English. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:37, 1 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Roger (Dodger67)! I apologize for taking so much time to respond! I would be interested in working on this article with you! It might be later on though, because the end of the semester is winding down for me and finals are coming up. Over winter break, I should have more time on this! Thanks for letting me know and extending this opportunity to me! Appleangel11 (talk) 10:23, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
- My end of semester exams ended a few weeks ago - I'm free until late January - it's the long summer vacation here in South Africa. I'd like to get a few more such articles going - particularly Anglophone countries (as English sources are accessible for me). Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 17:02, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
Congratulations!

Excellent work on Disability in China. Looking forward to further contributions from you!. DStrassmann (talk) 23:16, 25 December 2014 (UTC) |
- I second that! I've just done a DYK review of the article this refers to and there is some minor work to do. Schwede66 04:02, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
DYK nomination of Disability in China
editHello! Your submission of Disability in China at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Schwede66 04:02, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
- Just a note about Template:Did you know nominations/Disability in China, commenting here as that is closed so the discussion is over and it should not be edited. The problem wasn't only with the hook but with other problems identified in the article, as noted by Schwede66. As no-one came forward to work on these issues the discussion was closed, which means it's now too late to do anything about it. Did You Know is primarily for new articles so a discussion which has gone on for too long without the article being promoted is eventually closed.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 03:15, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
Interview for The Signpost
editThis is being sent to you as a member of WikiProject Disability
The WikiProject Report would like to focus on WikiProject Disability for a Signpost article. This is an excellent opportunity to draw attention to your efforts and attract new members to the project. Would you be willing to participate in an interview? If so, here are the questions for the interview. Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Multiple editors will have an opportunity to respond to the interview questions, so be sure to sign your answers. If you know anyone else who would like to participate in the interview, please share this with them. Thanks, Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 13:08, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
editHi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:10, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
