Majeed-ul-Hasan started his acting career in 1975 with PTV Peshawar'' in his mother language Hindko dramas. This was during the early days of PTV, located in the Public Service Commission building near the Governor's House that was the era of black and white TV dramas. Alongside acting, he also wrote many short and long dramas in Hindko. He showcased his acting skills in popular dramas like "Bus Conductor, Dozkhi and Ladlay." As PTV transitioned to color television and moved to a new building, He continued his career and played a labor leader role in a 13-episode Urdu series called “Saudagar.” He later acted in many other Urdu dramas, including one called “Inhi Patharoon Pa Chalkar”. In total, he acted in over 100 Urdu dramas, some of the important ones being "Chingari, Rang, Gurd, Resham, channel, Gaireeban, Khazana etc”. He worked with famous artists from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in these dramas. His popular PTV Hindko dramas including “Dewal, Parchol, Samjohta and Shaam”. He has also written many Hindko drama serials like "Safaid posh, Andhairay, Fankar, Ankhain, Nasoor etc”. Notably, he holds the record for writing the longest Hindko drama called “Aas” which aired nationally and internationally in 1990, receiving widespread acclaim. Majeed has been involved in acting not just on PTV but also on various private TV channels.
He introduced many famous actors, in Peshawar PTV among which Najeebullah Anjum, Ijaz Mir, and Samina Sahar is prominent. Many major channels and newspapers like PTV, K2 and Khyber News published his interviews.
He spent almost 40 years as a Civil Servant (PCS Group) in Civil Secretariat Peshawar during which he was posted in various departments of Civil Secretariat Peshawar. His last posting was as Section Officer-Culture in the Department of Culture Govt. of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where he spent about 15 years and then retired from the same. During his work, he organized many cultural events and activities at the national and international levels for the promotion of culture and also sent delegations to other countries, which were highly appreciated.
In recognition of his significant contributions to the arts, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government honored him in 2018 with the prestigious “Saqafat - Kay- Zinda Amin” award from the Department of Culture. In lieu of his numerous and matchless services, the Department of Culture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recommending him for Pride of Performance.
