Kjells is alias for Gregor Kjellström. In the Swedish version of Wikipedia the alias Rogerg is also used.
Gregor Kjellström was born in Stockholm, Sweden, 1932. He recieved the B.S. degree from the University of Stockholm in 1958.
From 1958 to 1960 He was with the Royal Administration of Wator Power where he was engaged in optimization of water canals beween water power plants. From 1960 to 1963 he was a member of the project group NAVALATOM at Stal-Laval Turbin Corporation where he was mainly concerned with computer calculation of strength, thermodynamics and reactor physics. Since 1963 he has been employed by the transmission division of the Ericsson Telephone Company, where he has been working on software development for analysis, simulation, centering, and tolerancing of electrical circuits and systems.
He discovered the algorithm later known as Gaussian Adaptation (Gaussian adapation) in 1969. Already at this early stage information theory was used to improve on the efficiency of the algorithm. It was further developed together with a colleague, Lars Taxén.
In 1991 a more general theorem on the efficiency of Gaussian adaptation based on the theory of information was discovered.
He retired in 1992.
Hobbies are choir-singing (since 1952), Artistic painting, Evolutionary algorithms, gardening.
