What will we be doing?
editI've looked at other coaching pages and it has mostly been questions to the coach about adminship, questions from the coach, ("What is the purpose of Wikipedia?"-type questions, policy questions, RfA questions, etc.) and speedy deletion exercises. I want to know how you coach a future RfA hopeful. Greeves (talk • contribs • reviews) 00:42, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- There is no "training" I am just here to help you if you have any questions or if you want guidance. There are some people who see adminship as a trophy to obtain, which it really is not. Ultimatly it is up to you do gain the communities trust, and your image is your responsibility. However, if you ever question yourself, or are unsure of something, I can help you out. If you want me to quiz you on something I can do that, but it is not within the true scope of coaching. Prodego talk 00:45, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
How close am I? Any improvements?
editHow close am I, in your opinion, to going to WP:RfA? Also, how can I improve? For my low edit summary usage, I now have the no edit summary prompt thing enabled. Greeves (talk • contribs • reviews) 00:07, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- It depends when you can be trusted, how active you are, ect. Purely on editcount (this is assuming you do everything else right) I would say you want 5000 edits. Based on that alone you are half way (assuming you don't change activity levels). That is enough for a rough guess, it really depends on when you are ready. Prodego talk 00:05, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- Apart from edit count, how else could I improve? Greeves (talk • contribs • reviews) 00:07, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- You are on the right track, involved in a little of everything. You may want to make yourself a 'regular' somewhere, AfD RfA, NPP, RCP, wherever you like best. However, you should really just be yourself, you do not have any glaring problems, keep up what you are doing. Prodego talk 00:17, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

I was recently nominated for adminship by GrooveDog (at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Greeves) and I am considering accepting it. Is this okay if I am currently in admin coaching? Is nomination normally something done by an admin coach when the admin coach feels that their "student" (or whatever I would be referred to as) is ready? Thanks for your help so far! You can certainly accept if you wish, though I would advise you to wait 2 more months. Some users consider 3 months too short a time for one to gain the knowledge expected of an administrator, and if you remain as active as you currently are, I foresee no trouble with an RfA passing at that time. You could wait another month, but you should probably be ok now. However, it is when you feel that you are ready that you should accept the nomination. GrooveDog thinks you are ready (however, besides nominating you he has one edit to an RfA), now the question is, do you? Do you understand the policies, and have you considered this advice? If you read both of these pages and still feel you are ready, then you should go for it. Prodego talk 00:05, 20 June 2007 (UTC)- I did something really stupid there, fixed.
