Infobox padding

edit

Is there a reason for the padding on top? Is this inherited from other sports infoboxes? I don't generally work on these articles and just noticed it. See screenshot here. Thanks. МандичкаYO 😜 09:56, 15 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

CFBHOF_id unknown parameter?

edit

Hi, editing references for Alex Moffat (American football) there's an error message "Warning: Page using Template:Infobox college football player with unknown parameter "CFBHOF_id" (this message is shown only in preview)." but the parameter is listed on the template. Question about the formatting

edit

Is there any reason the "Personal Life" section isn't the first group of parameters listed? It's inconsistent with basically every other infobox about a sportsperson. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 16:18, 14 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Or should we just merge to Template:Infobox NFL biography, which most notable college players end up using at some point. Some editors just insisted on college being unique.—Bagumba (talk) 17:18, 14 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Bagumba, doing that would cut down on a lot of maintenance since we'd no longer have to replace them with NFL infoboxes post-draft, but it also brings up potential issues such as bowl games being listed for NFL players (assuming that the parameter for that would be kept). But I suppose a fix could be either omitting that outright in a merge or having it (and other college-specific parameters such as class) be hidden via a flag that triggers when the player's team is no longer listed as a college team. That way we'd avoid any edit-warring. But unless we get a consensus for that, I see no reason why my original proposal shouldn't be applied to the current template. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 19:00, 14 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Dissident93: I have no objection. It just seemed like to me in the past that some college editors just wanted things different for the sake of being different.—Bagumba (talk) 02:56, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
